Adding Hertl would be a huge score, but it all depends on what SJ is doing, will they take another run at it? They have Karlson and Burns for like another generation, will they want to keep Hertl to go for it again? - Brukie
Sharks fans seem to think its rebuild time. |

It was time to rebuild before they signed EK. A Rebuild for them will be pretty difficult, they have Kane, Couture, Meier, EK, Burns, Valasic and Jones, all signed long term and most likely have some sort of movement clause. I cant see them trading their best center for a pick and prospects. Another thing is will Hertl want to change coasts? Does he have any roots in SJ? Family? He is also married and will his wife want to change coasts? |

Well, that also is a problem for them. With all those huge contracts on the books, can they afford to resign Hertl and still manage to fill out the team. |

Hes never played RW. He was a LW.
Personally, Id rather let him go, move Strome to RW and pick up a proper 3C. - aecliptic
When I remember Chytil’s finest moment it is probably that goal where he skated up the right wing, went to the front of the net and scored and one of the Bruins hit him into Rask and Rask got hurt.
If Chytil is transitioned to wing I think it could be to the right wing, but we shall see |

Of course, which could work in our favor. If he feels that team has peaked, why would he want to spend the prime of his career on a floundering team.
The other player Id target is Elias Lindholm, but we would have to blow CGY away with an offer. Theyll probably be busy again trying to shop Gaudreau. |

Only if he wants to change coasts, specifically if his wife wants to change coasts. There are a few other teams on the West Coast. |

LA would be our biggest threat probably. |

In a trade for Dvorak, Im a big fan of grabbing Lawson Crouse, which would knock either Rooney off the line or Barron back to the minors. |

Dvorak isn’t what we need |

well nyrangers9479 is a little different, he's done with small players and that's the end of the story - jimbro83

Why can't we have both? Nils has played the left side in his career. |

How is Dvorak not what we need in a 3C? He may not be the biggest guy but can be physical, really good on faceoffs and can put up points. The added bonus is hes already under contract for a decent salary.
Who I really want is Boone Jenner, but I highly doubt we will get him from CBJ. |

Then what? Trade Jones and Robertson?
Personally Id rather have a Robertson / Schneider pairing. The WHL's Central and Eastern conference defensemen of the year. |

I really don’t know.
But I really think since Nils is older they don’t need to decide that immediately. Nils can play with the Rangers this coming season and Schneider can do a year in AHL.
I gotta see these guys before I make a decision to like that.
Nils can shoot it though. That I know for sure. |

I have been looking at teams that are possibly good trading partners with the Rangers.
I can't help but keep circling back to the Boston Bruins. They have had a need all season for scoring forwards to share the load with the Perfection line. After the playoffs conclude, they are going to be looking for young, cheap defensemen to replace outgoing UFAs. They have several "tough" players to exchange with us. We have a good recent history of making large and small deals with them too.
A combination of:
Kreider ( would most likely waive to go home )
Buch
Zac Jones
Libor Hajek
and from their side:
Nick Ritchie
Trent Frederic
Jack Studnicka
John Beecher ( had promising year at Michigan until serious shoulder injury )
Don't misunderstand, I am not suggesting a 4 for 4 swap. I am just pointing out possible targets that would interest and upgrade each roster. Combinations of above players and picks could certainly be involved. What do you think? |

I think it all depends if they bring Taylor Hall back.
It seems like they really like him and he really likes them. Only problem is, seems like to keep Hall, they need to make him highest paid player in team, no matter how much he likes it there. And are they willing to do that. That’s the big question. |

Any reason why nothing mentioned about Dylan Larkin? He is a very good center with a 6m Cap Hit for the next two seasons! He plays for the worst team and still did ok. He is also normally over 50% on faceoffs which we badly need! This would cost the Rangers very little unlike Jack Eichel yet give us a very good player at Center which we surley need! I hear talk about getting Veteran D and with all our D we have now I pretty much think we should pass on that unless we get Chara or Staal back on the cheap as well. We do not need wingers, however we do need some toughness and build a 4th line!!! I wouldn't mind over spending on this 4th line for certain players.... |
