Maybe 5 mins for charging.....clean hit. Evans put himself in the spot....keep your head up.
Game is too soft. |

Anyone defending MS when he literally would have stopped the goal if he played the puck is a moron. - Feds91Stammer
There are two specific groups when it comes to this poop:
1) Group A who thinks every hit should be suspendible because they want to seem evolved and yell at the people in Group B who think they're being "old school."
2) Group B who thinks every hit, no matter how dirty, should be allowed because they're "old school" and just whine that everyone in Group A wants to make hockey soft.

Neither am I. I didn't mean there are ONLY two groups. I just meant there are two specific groups.
I'm definitely in the group that likes big hits, likes fights, but just thinks common sense needs to be used in regulating the league to lower the unnecessary danger situations.

I think that when people, in any group, are using Sean Avery as a testimonial expert, you've not only already lost the arguement, but you're losing at life in general... |

Him justifying a douche move is solely to validate his career of douche moves |

What does keep your head up in this situation even (frank)ing mean? Anticipate the illegal hit and skate to the side instead of scoring the goal?
I’m so (frank)ing sick of this phrase. Every time there’s an illegal check it’s “keep your head up.” |

I think I would have maybe taken a peek out front before performing the most go hard empty net wrap around in the history of the game. I give him full credit for it. MS isn’t stopping that with an extended reach that kid was leaning hard on that puck to put it in. It was all happing so fast I don’t think MS actually expected him to pop out front. I also don’t think he expected to knock him into next year. My personal opinion is you should have self awareness and it’s not the opposition’s responsibility to look out for your safety. |

Looks like it's time to pull a Tampa. Keep one high paying guy on LTIR, sign an extra guy, and bring them back for the playoffs.
Malkin takes a lot of crap here and amongst Penguins fans/hockey fans... but the guy is a warrior. He probably shouldnt have been playing the playoffs and also have elbow problems. I think sometimes he plays like an idiot... but I've never questions his commitment to this team.
And as our guys get older... does anyone believe in sitting guys for rest? It happens in the NBA, which it is abused by star players, but as Crosby/Malkin/Letang age... is it worth lowering their regular season play to make sure they are rested for the playoffs? |

Should they do this? Absolutely. Will they? Absolutely not. Not in the "hockey culture".
Hearing Malkin could be "iffy" for the start of the season makes believe even more they'll protect Carter. The way Hextall and Burke talked about him, they clearly view him as a big part of the plan for next season.
