Fear the beard - Powerslave
Deger was saying yesterday that Gronberg is open to coming g over to NHL as Associate Coach to make his mark there 1st.
I thought that was interesting. |

In a counter argument, not saying this is a good idea or valid reasoning, I could see the Sabres not taking either Eklund/Guenther because of having Quinn and Peterka in the pipeline with Mitts and Cozens having wing versatility. - Pegullaville
I've read where they call Guenther the best pure goal scorer in the draft, though.
Is he a slight reach at one? |

Technically that's what hes going to be - gerbe75pts
If that’s the case then you have to go forward.
The only way you could justify Power at 1 is if you think he has top pair upside.
I believe a high end winger or a 2C has more impact on a roster than a 2nd pairing LHD.
Nashville had Weber, Suter in their primes along with Josi coming into his own and it didn’t mean much without high end forward talent |

Well I’m of the opinion that there’s holes needing to be filled at every position on the roster |

In terms of winning it all, sure. In terms of making the playoffs they did a lot. Converse argument, Edm took nothing but forwards and constantly was one of the worst teams in the league, until the best player probably ever joined their team. Healthy balance is needed for regular season and playoff success |

I remember everyone was so excited about Ristolainen, myers, Zadorov and thought we be unstoppable
It seems we're trying a Redo |

True. And he could dominate there. I am intrigued by having two top pair D men anchoring 75% of games. |

No doubt, however it’s easier to acquire the T.J Brodie’s, Jake Muzzin’s, and Ryan McDonagh’s of the world than to get a high end winger or a 2C. However competent management can generally find both if it comes down to it.

Eklund >> Beniers >> Power
- Mentalorgasm5
Respectfully disagree on power. Everyone who called him Risto, because reading one review that he panics didn’t watch him. He’s like the anti-Risto. Calm, puck moving, doesn’t use his great, but also doesn’t put himself out of position just to use said size. |

I mean sure, but Brodie, Muzzin, and McD aren’t comparable (maybe have been at times, but not sustained by any means) to 1st line wingers or top tier 2C. Try trading for Weber or Suter during their prime and would have costed just as much as those guys. But yes, if you are trying to get a solid contributor at the end, you prolly didn’t have it to begin with. The glue guys are the acquire targets of good teams, unless your team is nothing but glue *cough Boston cough* |

It seems rather apparent from this Armchair GM on the Best path forward:
Trade '21-1OA to The Kraken,
* they make their big splash pick, contingent on them picking Power.
* get 2OA in return, plus they have to pick Okposo
Trade Eichel & Olofsson to Anaheim, return of
* Zegras
* '21 - 3OA
* '22 - 1st
Trade Sam, Tage & Miller to CBJ, return of
* Texier
* '21 - 5OA
Draft
* Beniers
* Eklund
* Guenther
