He's having a telephone hearing today, which means he will get five games or less.

Wow. Just saw the Schiefle hit. As nasty a charge as I ever seen.
#RaffiTorresEsque

40 games plus how ever many games Evans misses. Without pay. Winnipeg must also pay the salary to charity.

Yeah, total garbage move by Sheifele.

But, I do think Ehlers deserves some credit in how he reacted. He put his arms out trying to shield the scrum away from Evans while he was down on the ice - and he was the first player to circle back and check in on Evans with the trainer and waive over to the bench for more medical assistance. That’s sportsmanship.

So spot on ! LA ! they are talking flat cap for another 3 to 5 years, Don't spend to spend. I hope they let big AZ walk or trade for a draft pick, I'd love to see Strome traded too but wishful thinking. Build cap space for down the line and strike for that big center ! Hope they take Mctavish!

Please tell us with certainty the first 10 picks so that we can stop discussing the possibility of the Hawks picking them. red font.

Looks like 4 games for Scheifele. League specified no indication of playing the puck, and clear intention of delivering a huge hit with the game, and more importantly the goal, already conceded.

Indeed he is. It got me wondering what his early career was like. His first 3-4 years were middling. About 20-25 pts, close to even, and slightly underwater on his analytics.

I say this so that we all realize that we need to give these young D enough time to develop into what they are going to be. By no means am I saying that any will develop into Hedman, but they are by no means at their peak in their 1st/2nd year in the league.

What a weak call on Bailey, if they are going to call that they should of called it when Palmieri was tripped, be consistent

I really really do not like players that are not willing to block shots or play physical if needed on the pk. It really puts a lot of pressure on the other 3 skaters.

With the Seabrook and Shaw deals (Toews, too?) on LTIR, the Hawks should be looking for bad contracts to eat for the next couple years. Even though Vegas likely needs to move a goalie, Flower's deal is not a bad contract. I think they'll have places to move him without a very high #2 (and a bad contract in return) as the sweetener. Who knows, though, as it was established yesterday that I am nothing if not obtuse.

- mohel

I don't see the Hawks adding any big name free agents until they can figure out what to do with Seabrooks contract. Plus with Toews/Kane's contract up in two years, the flat cap, and in rebuild mode they should concentrate on development and adding assets. Taking on a high expiring 1-2 year contracts at the deadline for prospects/draft picks is the route they should take. Plus lets see how they do when playing against the entire league. Still too many question marks to be adding a big name at this point.
