The problem with getting Sam is that we need to dump salary as well to afford him.

Use Edler's salary. Problem solved.

And then what, run two rookies and Hughes out on the left side?

Sooner Edler is gone the better. Just like Tanev.

He already did his growing up away from home. JV grew up here with his idiot friends. Though JV probably would have turned into a PoS regardless of who drafted him.

Yup, it worked out pretty well this year, should be just as impactful next season with all the young blood injected into the lineup.

Ya, they are a terrible organization. I don't know how Neely keeps his job.

Both the Bruins and the Islanders have good GM's. It's funny listening to Canuck fans slagging successful organizations.

Oh I agree, rip off the bandaid, but if the plan is make the playoffs at all cost...

One more step back this season before taking a step forward.

You never provide a counter argument to this though. And whenever someone does, they just bring up the Leafs, which is just another example of a slightly less worse cap managed team.

I think their GMs make mistakes too though, so it's pretty much a wash

Canucks are top 3 worst cap teams.

Tampa's cap is worse numbers-wise, but they have positive-value assets to trade off to get them under (while also be a top team in the league).

Canucks cap problems are being created by terrible contracts that have negative value. Not as easy to escape that (while being one of the worst teams in the league).

So, overall, I'd say Vancouver is in a worse spot than Tampa.

Doesn't Tampa have a Stanley Cup to cushion their tight cap?
