Can you believe the Canucks are picking ahead of the Senators, Vantel must be turning over in his HB grave

He's too busy watching Suzuki looking like an absolute stud for the habs

Vantel did guarantee a top 10 finish this year… so close.

Previous to offseason changes & covid divisions & condensed schedule. He went out on a limb. Ballz

I think it was overly optimistic considering they are in the middle of a rebuild. Usually rebuilding teams don’t finish in the top ten, hence the need to rebuild in the first place.

No doubt it was a bold statement. Based on presumptions very early on.

Thank God. Horrible GM and horrible coach on OTT. They are a Sh!t team and couldn’t even tank right. Congrats to the canucks for sneaking lower in the standings

I thought the 1 year rebuild was over when they traded for Miller and then traded for Toffoli.

Went a fair bit further than you whiners thought afyer those trades, petey at a point per game and hughes not far off against some very good teams in the playoffs. Pretty great performance despite such a young team, short memory after a tough season this year.

How about those Calder finialists!? I thought Ty Smith should have been on there.

To be fair, Reuben was one of the optimistic few who predicted a top 10 finish. Doesn’t sound like a whiner to me.

Totally. Fanboy mania. Cernak isn’t going anywhere. Their cap situation isn’t much worse than ours lol
- CanuckDon

It could be argued that they are actually in a better spot, as the guys they could trade to reduce their cap hit are actually worth acquiring, and teams are willing to give up (a 1st and a 3rd) assets to take advantage of the situation.

Were willing.

You saying this time around with the e-draft & worse cap problems that’s a guarantee?

NTC’s evaporate. Tax advantage lost probably. Players openly accept to go to any team.

Better spot maybe once proven. A lot of hard work is ahead for that to become reality. TB isn’t impervious to the circumstances.

Ignoring the flat cap era & how hard it is to trade. Buyers market.

Playin devils advocate.

I don’t see TB getting out from under without some pain. A big hole to get out of good team or not.

After their F stars ppl fawn too much over the role players. In goal & on D they are very well built.

If you think that general managers won’t try to improve their team in the off season by acquiring proven cup winners you are foolish. Even IF it is a “buyers market” there will still be buyers, and I bet Jim Benning is one of them.

When your top scorer is out for almost 2/3 of the year and the 'covid' 30 day break took effect...ah yes those millennials they love their days off lol

Could be. If Hughes and Clarke aren't available do we shop the 9OA pick? What would it take to get Sam Reinhart? JB has been on him for awhile...

The problem with getting Sam is that we need to dump salary as well to afford him.
