JV an unmitigated bust. Smells of FA.

OJ was a reach that most ppl didn’t like. Tkachuk fell like players always do. Picking JV has a domino effect imo & what made Tkachuk less obvious. Imo need was getting filled at a poor time. I had better D in mind back then.

- Nighthawk

Benning was freshly hired for the JV draft, it's common knowledge that newly hired GMs take a backseat during those circumstances.

Cernak and Manson trade possibilities

Savard UFA

- Nucker101

My guy is Cernak but would be pricey. Chances traded...5%

Manson be nice only at the right cost.

Savard my easy UFA out for need.
4/4m my offer or 3/4.25m

If we acquired Cernak and traded down at the draft would you be the happiest canuck fan in the world? Perhaps throw in an offer sheet for the Nighty trifecta 🎉

Cernak could mentor him as well, it's good to have a dman on the team to watch in practice everyday like how Chara mentored the Bruins defensive dmen

Cernak would cost us what?

Cernak with 9th in the package?

Trade down to achieve the above or it’s own strategy?

No OS in my repertoire this year lol

I’d do it. Get an obvious upgrade & good contract. Chance 9th would be as good is unlikely besides waiting to develop. Big RHD need filled is a major bump.

Chance TB unloads him? Slim.
Bigger cap problems to address & not enough cap savings let alone get back value. A cap dump package be the only way TB MIGHT move him.

I think if they were picking 13th, he'd either hope his guy falls, and if not then trade back to trade the pick for another J.T. Miller type of player.

As for your 2nd point, he's clearly on another level when it comes to operating at the draft table compared to guys like Treliving

lol so true.

4 games for Scheifele seems pretty harsh
- Nucker101

Yep. Should have been 1...maybe 2.

Casually yes.

More focus on house maintenance to get serious on moving. Heat has slowed me down I don’t do well when this hot. Rainy season is always to long getting it done.

Big few days coming to gain traction & stuff done.

That I wouldn’t doubt at all. That explains Tanev’s compliment about QH, he’s just buttering him up for some names.
- K-man25

Tanev is an actual NHL dman that played with Hughes for a full season and recognizes his potential. That came from an actual NHL hockey player and not the champs in here lol

Bure wasn’t penalized on the play but was fined $500.

I thought 2 but 4 seems fair. That was one of the biggest runs I've ever seen. I like the logic of if he was going for the puck then it's probably not even a suspension. But he was totally trying to fill Evans in without an attempt to put his stick on the puck.

Funny how he identified 9 good players in this draft. If Canucks were picking 13th do think he would spend more time identifying 4 more? This guy is simply amazing and you’re lucky he’s in charge of the Canucks.

- K-man25

Benning’s a complete idiot, he’s done well in the first round though, but beyond the first round, he’s struggled to produce NHL players/games. Treliving’s a moron too, but, he’s even produced more beyond the first round when compared to Benning since the 2015 draft.

Treliving 738 NHL GAMES

Benning 245 NHL GAMES

Churla was taking liberties with him, Bure, so he took care of it himself

I get that, but didn't he get body before head? Also the main argument is that he charges(but he glides at the end though which is what you're taught since taking strides leading into a hit is dangerous since it usually leads into jumping into a hit and is technically a charging penalty as well) but they don't call that poop in the playoffs, remember Ferland when he wrecked the Canucks? Every other (frank)ing hit was a charge if you go by the book.

I feel like it was a hit that goes against the modern day "code" since he either should have let up, or stick checked him instead to try and actually save the goal, but I don't know if it's technically worthy of a multi-game playoff suspension for a first time offender.

Just my two cents, but I understand why people don't like the hit.

Take Killorn off their cap book too then? Or can we not afford that due to the Pearson deal?

Lets stack up the prospects they've drafted(all rounds) against each other. I'll take Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser, Demko, Hog, Pod, Rathbone, etc over Tkachuk and co. all day
