I think the logic was that they would have to get rid of this curse eventually, and that now might have been that time. but I digress as well loll - Pat1993

yup... at this point I really want them to beat the jets but that game 7 win against TOR makes everything better, despite the outcome. I'll be enjoying that one for a while
Sorry, having trouble crapping on Chiarot right now... He agitated and played physical in Round 1, and was an absolute workhorse (sorry Dale Weise). Better than Kulak? Likely... Keep Gus' minutes low and roll 5 D with Romanov, play Gus in PP situations. I hope this isn't an issue that's going to cost us Romanov... I really like that kid. - Darksyde
I don't see this as a dig at Chiarot at all, but I think Romanov's better mobility makes him a slightly better overall defenseman, even right now. And these perceived "risks" surely cannot be worse than the risks of having Gustafsson and playing your top 4 54 mins a game.

maybe on a different team. but for what the Habs are trying to do and trying to be in the playoffs? disagree. we'll see how they fare against the Jets behemoths up front but guys like Chiarot, Weber, Edmundson were a big reason why Toronto wasn't able to generate any offence in the paint. they kept the crease relatively clear of Leaf forwards. that's not so much Romanov's game.
not saying i don't want him in but i think Chiarot is a much more valuable presence right now.
