just because you are a top 10 player for 1 of your 6 years of playing in the nhl, that does not make you a top 10 player 16 months later though


he may or may not be a top 10 center right now, he was in the 4-6 range IMO last season


but you have a lot of wingers, a lot of d men and perhaps a few goalies in the mix to say he is a top 10 player in the nhl


I bet if you polled non sabre fans outside of WNY, he might make 5 percent of the ballots for top 10 players in the nhl

Fans are the worst source to properly evaluate players though.
Add to it that Jack gets a bad rap around the league for being disgruntled and a coach killer, it further depreciates his true stature as a player only.

I'd rely more on insiders, most who would get him in Top 10 Centers.

Been saying this for a couple months now, and the PO's are supporting that view in spades.
Add in the teams in the other Eastern Division...they have abso.utely zero shot at PO's next season, and probably the next as well.
That is with the big 3 remaining.

Now factor in the anticipated trades.
This is why I wouldn't worry about Okposo being a relative boat anchor for the final 2 years. Save picks and prospects at all costs.

I think so. The core without Eichel proved they can play pretty good.

People will still say “ well they lost games still”

They also had a rookie goalie and ahl goalies all year long. So I don’t take that into account nor care

Eichel is somewhere in that grouping
Whether u label him “top10” or “top25” or whatever.... he’s still very good
And pretty much everyone agrees on that
