It literally looked like Reaves was trying to murder him. He hauled Graves down, and Graves was still OK and conscious at that point, but Reaves appeared to be trying to kneel on his head and neck, and also smashing his gloved hand into Graves' face and holding it there...with force, pinning him to the ice. All of that was very hard to see, but Graves was out cold when Reaves got up. Almost looked like Grave's helmet strap might have had a hand at choking him out ? You could see Graves trying to escape being pinned down, flailing his legs around, but the refs and Reaves were on top of him, with Reaves pinning him with that one gloved-hand to the face. Scary stuff - hard to watch.

Suspension for sure...intent to injure - Reaves might be out a while, but it's the NHL, so 1 game max.

just because you are a top 10 player for 1 of your 6 years of playing in the nhl, that does not make you a top 10 player 16 months later though


he may or may not be a top 10 center right now, he was in the 4-6 range IMO last season


but you have a lot of wingers, a lot of d men and perhaps a few goalies in the mix to say he is a top 10 player in the nhl
