By the way, my two favorite landing spots for Eichel are Dallas and San Jose. Benn or Couture have to be part of what is coming back in the return. You see the way some of the older players like Spezza, Getzlaf or Pavelski are playing, these guys are playing well into their mid 30’s now.

He could also just formally request a trade today. Why burn a year and have a surgery you don't want?

Yep, I don't think a team would trade for him if they weren't OK with what Jack wants, but there taking a big risk that the surgery will go right.

Nobody older than 25 should be an option for us. Sure, these guys are playing well into their 30s in complimentary roles. Those are spare parts that good teams take a chance on. We are looking for foundational players.

These bands you like the most, most likely all were influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, as ironic as that may be.

Why would we want someone that old in a trade for Eichel?
1- u wanna maximize his value & get YOUNG talent for the rebuild
2- we’ll have all the cap space in the world (exaggeration, but we’ll have PLENTY), to bring in “leaders” on SEPARATE DEALS- and bc of their contracts, guys will be available pretty cheap

I guess that era/genre just doesn’t peak my interest all that much outside of the popular stuff like Metallica, some Ozzy, etc
