Highly unlikely agreed.
Still though a good C pick should.
RHD not likely.

I meant he wouldn't be an interesting pick.

I want nothing to do with Hughes or either of the 2 Swedish midgets.
It is time for this team and its fanbase to wake up, you don't win with midgets, this is coming from a midget.😁

Terrible article but some funny truths in there...

There is always a large contingency that show up a month before the year and spread their optimism around like seagulls poopting on tourists at Granville Island. “This is a playoff team!”....”We have three lines that can score!”.....”Other teams got worse.”

The authors of that article must read this thread.

You must have missed last years playoffs where Brayden Point had 33 points in 23 games. Or the 1" taller Kucherov who had 34 points in 25 games.

Or this years playoffs.

If Seattle takes Holtby are you comfortable with Demko/Demingue (type) in a playoffs or bust scenario?

This team can still get worse before it gets better.

Literally hasn’t played in two years and you want him to be the backup?

I mean, regardless of who the backup is, I think DiPietro probably gets called up and plays if Demko gets hurt...

If Bloated is right and Schmidt is on the way out I don’t see this as an “improvement”. If Edler retires who is “better”? If he comes back, not better. They don’t really have youth who are pushing for playing time. Sure, they have a few guys who have looked OK, but that’s not a step forward of playoffs are the goal.

Should we conduct another “will they be a top ten team” poll? I wonder if the same people who voted “yes” at the beginning of last season will be the same people who say “yes” at the beginning of this coming season?

Are you serious? Eklund is very interesting. He missed the beginning of the season with Covid, missed the WJs - then had an appendicitis and a few other injuries until he came back in Jan and put up better numbers than any 18yr old since Lindholm in the SHL including Alexander Holtz (year older & his linemate). He'll be long gone by the 9th pick, we should count our lucky stars if he falls to us. BTW, Luke Hughes plays D nothing like Quinn - so that weird "I hate his brother so I don't want him" opinion doesn't make any sense either. You might be the one that needs to wake up.

UFA goalies this year that could serve as a backup on a 1 year deal:

- Halak
- Craig Andersson
- Ullmark
- Bernier
- Rittich

There's a lot of UFA goalies. I'm sure one decent backup could be had for a couple mil

you do understand that reuby's position is about toughness and recognizing the deficiencies on the current team. i don't follow amateur hockey/drafts so i don't really have an opinion. i've always maintained that BPA is the best way to go in the first 3ish rounds. but i do recognize the value in seeing what the team has (types of players as well as positionally) in order to recognize the team's needs. you can disagree which is perfectly reasonable but he does have a point.

toronto is a very skilled team as well.

If this year’s draft class is as weak as predicted, perhaps they should explore trading their 1st for a 1st and 2nd in next year’s draft.

In all fairness to those that voted, myself being 1 of them, the team would be a top 10 team, that poll was done right after the season.
I for 1 didn't think Benning was stupid enough to not re-sign Tanev, one of, if not the best defensive defenseman in the league and I thought Toffoli would be re-signed.
So, what i am trying to say is, for that poll, I am on the team of excuses.😁
