"If you ain't ever been to the ghetto, don't ever come to the ghetto, cause you wouldn't understand the ghetto, so stay the (frank) outta here!"

This was not directed at you, just a random music quote that no one will get.

Has anyone ever heard Sutter talk about Aalytics? He seems smart enough to understand they are important but old school enough to not really give a damn.
- DuranDuran

His LA teams were pretty damn good at corsi I think so even if he doesn’t give a damn, his coaching fundamentals naturally produce good analytical stats

He just needs a bigger/more physical team to work with, it’s a weird fit with this current roster

These days it's hard to remember that hockey started out as a man's game.

For example, here's a newspaper review of a typical game from Jan 2 1913:

Mark Scheifele eat your heart out.
(PS Gary owes you bigtime for giving the league such an easy out...not that he'd ever admit it.)

Not going to lie, I saw nothing wrong with that hit. Thought it was a great hit actually. He could have been called for charging but Sheif was rushing back to stop the play.

You pull a wrap around like that you have to expect to get leveled. Scheif would have gotten crap if he just skated by. It's the playoffs, you finish your checks.

All dude had to do was look up and the whole thing would have been avoided.

Agree 100%. It's called taking a hit to make a play.

I thought it was a predatory hit, why didnt he dive with his stick & try to play the puck? Either way 2 important factors came into play on that. 1/ I got a bunch of Montreal players late in the pool & I needed them to advance
2/ Maurice acted like it was no big deal but he whined like a 4 year old getting his popsicle taken away when Tkachuk did a way more marginal hit last playoff. So fck him!

I emailed Eklund, apparently, he's actually not able to read and referred my request onto his people! I'm sure given the Flames status on this website, I can expect an immediate, expedited response!

I don't think any player expects to get blown up like that - there's playing the body and then there's laying a guy out for no reason at all.

Had he tried to play the puck and made contact, sure, I'd buy his pathetic excuse that he was maybe trying to prevent a goal. But he didn't. He came in from the blue line and had already made up his mind that he was going to hit him, and where he had a chance to maybe lay up just a little, he instead dropped his shoulder and finished through the kid.

There are checks intended to separate man from puck and checks intended to separate head from body. His was the latter.

Had he just owned up to his intent, I could have maybe regained a little respect for him, but after he played the victim for 2 straight days with the media, I really don't have any left for the guy.

He made the hit because it felt good. Don’t over analyze, my friend.

Are any of us actually paid members of this site? If you are, maybe try and female dog to Ek, he does not seem to give a poop.

I have lost respect for Cordell. Normally you let the fanbase know you are stepping down. I would say I lost respect for EK, but, that disappeared many moons ago.

What are some other sites people enjoy to talk Flames hockey?

Dude should take @Hockeybuzz off his Twitter profile if he's done with this thing...

And nope, surrendered paying for anything on this site years ago. That's why there are no less than 6 ads for poop I will never buy encapsulating the space around this tiny text box as I type this.

Reddit is good, but the charm of this site is great. I went to the bottom of the page and tapped on the “Contact Us” thing. You can bítch to either support or the mods. I went with support.

Reddit is a deep, dark hole of all things wrong with the world... if you can't find it there, guarantee someone posts a link to something worse.

From the Los Angeles Daily News:

"The (Anaheim) Ducks lost Darryl Sutter this past season when the Calgary Flames hired him 24 games into the pandemic-shortened, 56-game season to replace Geoff Ward as their coach.
The Ducks on Tuesday hired Ward to replace Sutter, who served as a special assistant to coach Dallas Eakins."

I wonder if Darryl pitched Geoff to the Ducks. (And Eakins should be the most understanding boss. Been there, done that, etc.)

I endorse Jimmy T for flames blogger. His outrageous outtakes wouldn't be much farfetched from what some already in the regular group propose. I mean most think Gio is undervalued at a 1st. And he should also be left for exposure. Then they think Monahans value is still at least close to fair for Eichel.

Yup indeed. Thought this was well known. He was consulting for them at the time
