I propose Tanner and Cloutier split the duties!

Or a complete nightmare. I came across Tanner’s Twitter account after the leafs loss the other night and let’s just that it was comparable to watching a national geographic documentary on a new species of hyena that instead of laughing whines.

Thats what makes it so entertaining though... Cloutier can gripe about how everyone is dumb and a bully, Tanner can go on about his infinite wisdom around the game of hockey.

Would be nice to have a bit more frequent content, besides us starting the dialogue. So since we have no blogger lead discussion, here's a couple to chew on...

Who are we getting at 12 or do we move that to add in a trade package?

How many games does Sheifele get?

Who backs up Markstrom next year?

Are we able to see games in the fall (full capacity)?

Again, why don't Calgary and Ottawa have Tim Horton's collector sticks???

I see Maurice sure changes his tune compared to the bubble playoffs where he thought Chucky should be banned from the league for his intent to injure. If that Schiefle hit wasnt a blatant viscous & dangerous hit I dont know what is.

Good player, dumb decision. Predatory, plain and simple. 4 games because he's got no prior history of suspensions. Kadri got 8 and that was 1/10th the hit this was...

1) Who are we getting at 12 or do we move that to add in a trade package?

I think we trade up. Monahan in a package to get who we want?

2) How many games does Sheifele get?

None. It was charging but it was old school hockey. Evans has no know something would be coming.

Who backs up Markstrom next year?

Broissoit?

Are we able to see games in the fall (full capacity)?

God damn who knows. I am waiting to go do some work in Chile, who a month ago was getting praise about how they were the best vaccinators in the world......now they have crazy infection rates. I just managed to get my 73-year-old father his first shot last weekend, I will probably have to fly up to Miami to get mine.

Who knows.

Again, why don't Calgary and Ottawa have Tim Horton's collector sticks?

Time Horton's has gone to crap.

Would love it if Clarke fell to us at 11, otherwise, look at any of the available centres at that point IMO. Trade back up into the mid-late 1st round and nab Raty as well. Something tells me he pans out.

How many games does Sheifele get?
3 games. For two reasons. NHL has to suspend him and 3 is the minimum in my view given what his hit did to Evans and the clear malice. Also, 3 because the Habs deserve a chance to punk him a bit in this series (not injure, not go over the top, but make his life hell)

Who backs up Markstrom next year?
McElhinney

Are we able to see games in the fall (full capacity)?
Yup.

Again, why don't Calgary and Ottawa have Tim Horton's collector sticks???
Tim Horton's is city-ist.

I use to think Todd was a decent blogger but at this point one of us would be a better option until ek can find someone who can make the commitment.

1) I’m going to assume we keep the pick and outside of someone falling out of the top 8-10 I would expect to hear one of sillinger, Lucius, ceulmans, bolduc, or L’heuraux. Raty’s slipped hard this year but a big right shot center could be attractive. Lambos and lysell are other names that have slipped but they don’t exactly seem like sutter players so I wouldn’t bet to hear their names called

2) 2 games, personally I think it was mostly clean just wildly unnecessary and malicious considering the puck was already in by the point of contact

3) I think we’re going to go super cheap on a backup considering how much Darryl likes to ride his starters. Wedgewood put up decent numbers considering how awful jersey was but the devils may still bring him back to platoon with Blackwood.

4) I have no idea what the situation is in Alberta so I can’t speak for you guys but in Ontario I’m guessing a limited capacity to start the year with full stadiums by New Years. Expect the worst hope for the best at this point.

5) I don’t know much about that but if Vancouver doesn’t either I’m thinking it may have to be players only from playoff teams.

Just doing his job deflecting blame. I’d expect Sutter to do the same.

On another note I’ve been spending more time on Flamesnation and noticed there’s a poster there called Kevin R. Weird? There can’t possibly be 2 well informed Kevin’s posting on Hockey Sites.

Saw on the Sabre blog someone said Tre was kicking tires on olofsson.
Proposed trade was
Eichel/Olofsson for Tkachuk, Monahan, Valimaki, Mang

As soon as I read Mang I was out.

With you there. Even Vali makes me a little nervous, we don't have a ton of depth on D right now in the system.

Yeah I had someone ask me about Gaudreau, mang and I think Vali and something else for eichel. I said I’d consider it (just in case JG’s gone anyways next year) but I’m not sure I can part with mange.

Before the season I said that I planned on getting a tkachuck jersey when he gets the C + a long term extension but if mange progresses next year and gets a long term extension it’s going to become a tough decision between the two.

When it comes to Eichel, I am really conflicted. Do you move heaven and earth for a guy who is miserable, injured and has arguably not been a great teammate for a couple of years now? I wonder. If I'm Treliving, I have no problem with Monahan and this year's first being on the table. If you wanted to really shake up the core here, send Johnny and Mony and a first packing to the Sabres for the rights to Reinhart and Eichel and sweeten that with a non-roster option.

You've got 2 guys who are pretty clear in their desire to leave Buffalo, and a GM who's going to face some pressure to not fully rebuild that team... again. I just don't know how many teams are going to move top end players for these guys right now. Picks, maybe, but I just dunno if Adams can justify another 10 years of losing for his owner.

1) Who are we getting at 12 or do we move that to add in a trade package? I will predict Sillinger but hoping for McTavish after watching the U18's

I think we trade up. Monahan in a package to get who we want? Mony & 13 for #8(McTavish) and #50?

2) How many games does Sheifele get? 2

Broissoit? Adin Hill

Are we able to see games in the fall (full capacity)? Hell Ya

I’m more so conflicted in the sense do we move heaven and earth for a top 15 center in the league that’s 24 years old and has 5 years left on his deal. When you look at what we have to deal with in Edmonton, petterson, soon LA and the duck’s young groups. The pacific may be the weakest division right now but in time I think we’re going to need some serious firepower down the middle if we want to compete.

The main problem with your proposal is that there is zero chance Johnny and monahan waive their NTC’s to go to Buffalo. Secondly the sabres are going to have to suck it up and let things take their toll. Play there cards right in 2 years we could be having the same conversations about them as we are having about the sens right now. Rebuild the next 2 years in drafts with a top 3 that rival the best of the past decade plus the returns on eichel/Reinhardt and you have yourself a team on the rise

Yeah who wants a top 10 center in the NHL that’s only 24. If you were stuck in Buffalo on a crap team with no direction you’d be a miserable sob as well.
I’d do Tkachuk and Monahan for Eichel not sure Buffalo would.
Tre should be looking at a retool here, his job isn’t secure enough to go full rebuild.

I had thought a month back about tkachuck and our 1st this year. I’m really not sure how well how it will stack up against the futures other teams can offer but we know no one is offering a player better than tkachuck. I hate to do it but I might even be willing to add Dube to get it done just because you can already tell sutter’s not a fan and I’d hate to look back at a player that didn’t develop like we had hoped. Hard to think we could have had stone a few years ago but decided not to because Valimaki seemed like a potential top pair D and gio replacement before his injuries

Like I said I think the odds are slim monahan is willing to waive his NTC to Buffalo (I think I’ll add Columbus into that for future reference) but I would be curious see how much Vegas would add to smith for half of monahan’s salary retained. They need cap space and a decent C, we need a RW and smith’s contract only has a year left on it so it’s not a huge burden.

I and still not sold that JG is ably to take the abuse that it takes to win a Stanley cup. If he does not have to play top line minutes and can disappear until there is a pp than yes. But otherwise no.
