Everyone on the Sabres in the 1st half of the drought made like 3-5 mill and fit the mold of a solid top to bottom roster, but never amounted to much. Never had cap space to bring in superstars. The mix of superstars and role players players can vary from championship caliber team to team, but absolutely must be homogeneous.

I am very, very cautiously optimistic that Kevyn has a true vision for the players he wants here and the way he wants them to play. This has been mentioned throughout his tenure. He also specifically mentioned how he wanted all departments on the same page as to the purpose of each player they were acquiring, why they were acquiring them and what role they were expected to fill in the organization.

If he can execute is a separate conversation, but I think he knows what he wants, and Karmanos should really help him with execution.

The Sabres have enough of their own problems to handle, no reason to take a steaming dump on the Oilers, at least they made the dance.

We'll see. There's a lot on his plate for a novice gm but he's got some good young pieces to move forward with in dahlin, mitts and cozens. Who he gets back in return for any of the big three will be huge.
