The Sabres have enough of their own problems to handle, no reason to take a steaming dump on the Oilers, at least they made the dance.
Anyone calling for Risto to be captain needs to test going over the falls in the barrel. |

McDavid didn't show up - gerbe75pts
I mean, that was a pretty nice wrap around give and go goal. Further example of hockey being a team sport. |

Correct me if I'm wrong here Chip but diversity is an old old wooden ship.
Also didnt they structure his current contract so that he has to be qualified at 9mm? - washedup20
get with the program, skip...the question was, what would be the dollar amount to re-sign him for, not his qo

Yeah, but he can sign any deal. So theoretically he can sign a 6 year 7.5M contract, which Pac was referring to. The qualifying offer would be on a 1/2 year contract, pending on team choice (def could be wrong on the last part). So it's one year pay day, in hopes of a longer deal, or security in the long year, for a little less up front. What we should have done with Reinhart in the first place |

Overreacting much ? - gerbe75pts
Nah hes garbage.
So overrated.
Clearly the loss is all his fault.
He'll never win a cup.
He should just retire. |

Well I really didn't take much from the presser other than a guy frustrated and angry. I really don't know what people expected him to say 2 days after another bad season. - Buff36
I think it's the difference between:
Something has to change here in the future
and
I'm not sure what the future holds
Can be the former, can't be the latter, not for the guy leading the team. He's got to resign, probably to a decent deal too, to deserve that IMO. I can get why there aren't a ton of options left, he's got some leadership qualities and wore the C in juniors...but he's GOT to be on board. |

It has become more evident than ever that loading up a top line and sacrificing the remainder of your roster with fill-ins is a piss poor way to build an NHL team.
Who wouldve thought, 20 strong players with great chemistry can beat 2/3 great players with no suppport in a best of 7..... |

point taken...but the sabres don't have three or four "strong players" much less 20...the billion dollar question is how do you get from where they are now to where you (and i, and everyone else) want them to be? |
