On Hall. He had too much pressure on him to succeed in Buffalo and was expected to elevate the play of others on his line. He flopped under this pressure it was not the coaching. In Boston he’s a secondary scorer, no pressure on him and he doesn’t carry a line.
On Hutton. He’s not a starter but is a very good backup. See his stats before Buffalo. I said before they blew it when they had a chance to move on from Ullmark and bring in a guy like Holtby, MAF or Talbot. Hutton would have been the backup to any one of them and goaltending would not have been an issue. When they overpay for Ullmark this year it will be more of the same. Some good, some bad and some time off.

Hall’s game has not changed from Buffalo to Boston.
The guy was completely snake bitten here shooting sub 3%.
The transition game and chance generation was
Always there.
He scored 8.7 goals less than expected while he was here. In Boston for the most part it’s been regression to the mean.
McDavid’s issue in the playoffs this season has been more or less the same thing. He’s still generating chances at the same rate he has during the regular season, actually he’s generating more, he’s getting stone walled by Hellebuyck right now |

Hall I think you're pretty spot on.
Hutton isn't NHL quality at this point though and Ullmark, while injury prone and maybe not the answer, is a starting NHL goalie when healthy.
To put Ullmark in perspective, we were 9-6-3 this year in his 20GS.
We ended 15-34-7.
Meaning we were literally 6-28-4 without him. He was shut down most times he played. I doubt any of the goalies you mentioned would boast a .917 on this team as well.
Hutton 1-10-1 |

Your Hall point is conjecture
He was simply stuck in a HORRIBLE offensive system under Kruger
Even Eichel struggled to score
And u didn’t explain how (basically) the WHOLE TEAM looked so much better after the coaching change
And if u think Hutton is STILL a “great backup” then you’re blind & crazy
Good for him that he put up better stats on a good defensive team FOUR YEARS AGO
He’s been extremely inconsistent in his time here,
which culminated this season with stats of:
3.47gaa
and
.886 save%
There’s just no way around the fact that he sucked overall for us this year
Now, those weren’t the ONLY problems we had....
but Coaching AND Goaltending were huge & obvious problems this season
Are u really trying to say coaching was good?
Are really trying to say goaltending was?
Come on man, let’s be real here |

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when Dustin Tokarski is first on the organizational depth chart. They need a lot of help. It's the worst position group at all levels imo which is a bad place to be - Hank Balling

The heavy game makes his speed practically useless, needless to say the Oilers organization has continuously failed at surrounding him with the proper grit for McDavid to maximize his use in playoffs.
All the moves made McDavids rookie year destroyed the franchise ie same with Murray and Eichel.
Both have one thing in common, micromanaging owners. - washedup20
If Jeremy Jacobs or Carl Paladino owned the team, how good could they be? |

So he was expected to elevate the play of Jack and Sam?

No more defensemen. I hope we don’t win the draft for two reasons, 1- no more defensemen. 2- running into the nhl no winning the draft twice in 5 year rule.
Give me 2 or 3 overall this year and let’s see if Adams can right this ship. |

They'd have a defined style of play under Jacobs, for one thing. |

Ok. Now, what would their style of play be like under a potential Paladino ownership? |

5yr thing doesn't start until next year I believe, and I might actually trade back a few spots if we got 1 and grab another asset |

Thats a tough one both will be very good players in different ways
But if you're looking for a all around player that would be power |

Uuummm. If?!? Seriously. HE OWNS AN NHL TEAM! Why would we have to wonder “if”. We know exactly what Jacobs. Learn how to write...
You could have said if Palidino or Elon Musk. That’s an “if” statement.

Point#2 isn’t applicable this season,
that starts NEXT year
So we could conceivably win the next 3 lottos
I’m with ya though
Don’t think we NEED to win the lotto this year
I have paid enough attention to any of the prospects to be sold on any of them, or dislike any of them though
So I’ll just be hopeful that whoever we take (at whatever spot) will become an impact player for us in a few years
From what I’ve heard, none of them will be in the NHL next season |

That doesn't start till next year .
But i agree with no defenseman but if it comes to us drafting power then Dahlin
Has go play the right side |
