That would have been last offseason if they'd signed Marky. Stuck in the past blinds you to what the real deal is with the Nucks.

That they’re a terribly run organization?

Sutter = Bergeron
Virtanen = Neeley
Gudbranson = Chara

There’s some others in there as well.

The funny thing is that the Lockwood to J Hansen comparison might be quite accurate now a year and a half after this article was written.

Not enough at all. Also whyon earth you trade a young stud core piece... reminds me of Boeser trype on here, just blows my mind tbh.

I am trying to be as optimistic as I can. The next 6 weeks will determine what direction this team is headed.

Our scouts on @lockwood_will:

Very fast, high compete level. Good motor and a good two way player. Plays a style similar to Jannik Hansen.
Doesn't say "he is going to be Hansen"

"I'm not comparing him to Patrice Bergeron"
That's English even K-man could understand. The Toews part again he wasn't comparing Sutter to him. Just saying they have a good two way game, that's needed in the playoffs.

"I'm not saying Erik is that kind of player"
So again Benning is not comparing Gudbranson to Chara. Just similar game styles.

The OJ one was probably not a good example at all to compare him to Lidstrom at the same age. Or Zhukenov to Datsyuk.

Jim Benning just trying to help Canucks fans understand and somehow most have completely missed it entirely, especially Jackson McDonald. He is probably 19 times worse than Drance for getting poop wrong.

There's a reason he stopped being the editor of Canucksarmy.

How about JT Compher for 3lc next season? Avs probably won't protect him in the expansion draft. 2 more years at 3.5M

Make a trade for him.

Sound delish
. Had a buddy that used to crab in Whiterock, he would walk out with the tide with a 5 gallon pail and a tennis racket. Watch for crabs heading out then touch them with the racket. Crab would grab on and he’d put them in the bucket.

Well played man...I have a feeling the OIL might be in trouble and looking for a goalie this summer? Holtby?

I like it a right hand shot and a consistent 10-15 goal guy. But what is the asking price?

I think you highly over value what a goalie is worth on the trade market. I doubt you could get more than the draft pick.

Anyway. Team has cap issues. Has an up and coming “goalie of the future”. I know they said that making the playoffs next season is their goal and that’ll do whatever it takes to do that, but 31 other teams are also going to be doing that, and I think there are at the very least, 20 who are in a better position to do that.

Sure, maybe William will reach the great heights of a JH. I don’t expect he will ever score 20 in a season though.

Listen man, saying “I’m not comparing” and then going right ahead and talking about the kind of game that player plays, and how your guy plays like that is exactly comparing.

I brought it up for a laugh, as Ruebs had mentioned the Bruins, Bergeron scoring twice in the win.

I get it, you think Jim is smart. You are welcome to your opinion. I think he isn’t smart. 🤷‍♂️

I’m so many ways. I think they need some smart people in key areas to insulate their hockey people. That doesn’t mean Sedins, they’re hockey people (not that they aren’t smart).

The Sedins and Courtnall might bring good elements here. Courtnall did recommend Gillis to FA to hire...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak7ejGe58SA

Courtnall missed his cup in 94 and the Sedins missed in 2011...maybe they deserve a shot to bring the cup here in a front office role...

Sure, I’m fine with those guys having roles within the organization if that’s what both want. I just mean that there doesn’t seem to be anyone driving the bus. Jim isn’t that guy. He needs a boss that isn’t Frankie, and isn’t a former player with no formal education or experience in managing a billion dollar business.
