Yes. But under Paul's loose definition, so is pretty much every coach in the NHL. I'm almost certain he harps on crap like this to avoid actually analyzing the game which he's proven he doesn't know how to do. Like his constant belly-aching about all the experts picking Carolina to win the series, because of course they did. Nobody in Nashville, other than Paul, thought the Preds had any chance in this series. I've been pleasantly surprised by how the Preds have managed to keep things as tight as they have despite the obvious talent gap.

Ironically, Paul's the first to whine and complain when he feels the Preds have been slighted in any way. That's what happens when your PA Announcer/Head Cheerleader doubles as your teams blogger.

Hey Squatchy how about you taking over ole No Show Paul's place as Pred's Blogger.

Lol, thanks but I'm pretty sure EK pays these poor guys in old bubblegum and stale bread. Seriously though, I'm no analyst, and I don't pretend to be. It would be an insult to actual sports journalists if I even tried. I think I'll stick to trying to keep Paul honest, and trying to figure out what the heck is going through Poile's head.

He's 71. Hopefully he just gets burnt out and retires, because I have no hopes he'll ever get fired. Ever since the run to the Finals, management and some of the fanbase, treat him as if he's omnipotent and can do no wrong. This is when I started to turn on him, because since 2017 it feels like he's more concerned with winning a cup to cement his own legacy, and doesn't care if he has leave scorched earth in Nashville to do it, and quite frankly FRANK him for it! How much goodwill can one person get for one finals appearance and a Presidents Trophy? How many bad free agent signings, draft picks does he have to whiff on, or trades that make no sense does he have to make for everyone to accept he's doing more harm to the team then good at this point? When EK tried to give him all the credit for the Preds turnaround this season, it made me want to puke.

He promised us a youth movement in the off-season. Instead he hires a couple of rent-a-players last minute, and puts a product on the ice that was easily one of the worst teams in the league. What other team in any other sport can you recall that had so many injuries, almost all at once, in the same season and actually benefit from it as much as the Preds did this year? But he traded Bonino and two draft picks for the renown goal scorer Luke Kunin, I hear EK say. Yeah, what a frickin' genius.

I just hope Poile doesn't ruin the Preds for years to come before we finally get him out of that seat. The Preds are in desperate need of at least a partial rebuild, but I don't trust Poile to helm that rebuild at all. I don't trust him to do anything anymore, other than overpaying for players more interested in being country music singers than they are playing hockey.

He will retire once he sets his son up to take over for him.

Everything you said was implied in my post. I was too lazy to type it all out. Thanks, man! Still waiting for Paul’s game 5 recap, but not really.

As usual I'm in complete agreement with Polecat on this one.
So, my prediction for game 6

Canes 5
Preds 2

Actual Score
Canes 3 (Two open neters to cap it off)
Preds 2

End Game
Preds claim a moral victory and the downward spiral into the realm of bottom feeding with the catfishes...

Me,too. He’ll continue to double-down on his bad decisions. You should have been a seller at the deadline, Poile!

LOL, Poile is going to Poile I have no doubt about that. He's got a lot of big decisions to make over the next year or two. Saros is going to be resigned, but what do you do with Fabbro? I believe Tolvy's entry level contact is up after this year. Forsberg and Ekholm are both going into the last years of their contracts next season.

Meanwhile Duchene, Johansen, and Ellis are safely under contract for years to come.

Depends of if Paul decides to go into hiding for a few weeks. Hopefully he at least gives us a post mortem blog. It's actually a very murky situation. Some of those bad contracts Poile's given out might finally force him into some tough decisions.

Let Ellis go to Kraken if they will with a 4th round included trade Arvy if you can get anybody to take him Rocco needs to go also just too small like the aforementioned two.
