From what I have read, Clarke is more offensive but his skating isn't the best and isn't great defensively

Hughes is a silky smooth skater who creates offense, not as much as his brother, but is better defensively but not a shut down Dman and are there any concerns about injuries?

I have no problem with drafting Hughes I just want to make sure he is the right fit

Not a knock against him, but it seems we have a good amount of mobile defenders, which isn't a problem when we have the puck, but we don't really have anyone that can do the dirty work in front of the net other than possibly bahl (not sure if Murray stays) and it's fine with stick checks and all but many times it seemed too easy being pushed off the puck against stronger opponents

We will be getting a good defender whoever we pick and they won't or most likely won't be playing in the NHL straight away, so hopefully we hit some home runs with our other picks too

wish i was on the inside to know what the actual deciding factors are. Clarke is a RHD, which we desperately need, (but could also find on the market..), and Hughes has his brother here. I know Clarke does too, but I don't think that plays a role. Curious what the organization is thinking. Seems like a lot of their actual abilities and projected skills are a tossup.

If you all havent watched E8, Lindy's First Year on NHL.com, I recommend it. Really good video. You can see how much the players loved playing for Lindy and the relationship between him and the players.
