it's not just the mayor.....talk to any private business or contractor who's had any dealings with him....the word is out. Don't do business with him. So....most small to mid range corporate $$ aren't coming his way anymore in this city

With gustavsson and daccord probably being the preferred candidates for the backup role I wonder if forsberg was just resigned for expansion reasons and perhaps if after the draft he may be moved? I bring the up as Calgary will likely be looking for an inexpensive backup to play minimal games and I was impressed by forsberg’s play this year.

Forbserg played very well for Ottawa, and I think his re-signing was a combination of expansion concerns, and the fact that he effectively replaced Hogberg in their goaltending system. It's most likely that Ottawa will either lose a veteran F or young G in the expansion draft, so we'll see what happens there. Beyond that, if there's a similar division/taxi squad structure next season, and the Senators are allowed to carry 3 goaltenders, then I'm sure they'd prefer to have Murray, Forsberg, and one of Daccord/Gustavsson in place. If not, you may well see a goaltender trade at some point in the season.

Max Lajoie draws into the Canes lineup tonight.

he's replacing Jake Gardiner, who will be a healthy scratch.

This is an interesting take on the year-end grades. Personally, I think there was a bit of a liberal use of 'A' on a team that failed to make the post-season, but always fun to read these things.
