You DO know that none of us are the GMs, right? You're talking like any one of us has any input into this deal. 😂

Eichel is elite talent for sure and at 24 years old. Problem I have with him is:

1) He's been unable to lead his team to the playoffs. Buffalo has been a team that has been good enough to make the playoffs.

2) The way he talks, he seems like he's a bad personality to have. Every interview is basically some sort of complaint. A great leader praises his team during victories and accepts blame in defeat. In a game against the Rangers, in overtime Eichel made a poor back pass that lead to a turnover and a 2 on 1 in which the Rangers won the game on. Eichel didnt take the blame for the loss, he just pooped all over the teams play.

He needs to act like a mature adult instead of a sulking child.

1) Back in 2006
2) Has his good moments and bad, just like any young kid who's used to winning and hasn't done that yet in Buffalo

I can't argue with that cause I am seeing it a little with the Sabres. I mean Mittelstadt, Cozens, Borgen, Bryson, Samuelsson, Asplund, Ristolainen, UPL they kinda remind me when Gaustad, Roy,Vanek, Miller, Pominville, Campbell all came up, of course we didn't win a cup but to see the pieces come up and make you a better team. Maybe I am just a Homer but I see a future for the Sabres and it doesn't need to be 3yrs from know. Kings should stay the course, you guys could be a power house in a few years.

I think itll be worth the wait for all these kids to come up and hopefully fulfill the potential they have shown so far.we will transition to the new NHL quickly, there is alot of speed coming for us.
Also buffalo is always fun to watch from afar, they've had some hard luck over the yrs,its unbelievable.i have always appreciated the talented players and teams they have had and the future potential as well.good luck sabres fans.

You too, you guys got a bright future. I actually saw the game against Colorado last week or so. That Kupari kid can fly, saw one play looked like he was shot out of a cannon going down the side board's. Would be someone I would like to see on Cozens wing.

If Kevin Adams doesn't slam the phone down when LA refuses to put Byfield on table he should be fired. Plain and simple Eichel is a PROVEN top 10 commodity and Byfield is not.
- Goalieguy43

And at this moment Eichel is damaged goods to which you have no answer to the outcome.

Man the weed in l.a. must be good because all the kings fans are delusional. A list of crap for a top five , first line center. Keep your garbage.

I would prefer to just stay the course. Bring up all the kids over the next couple years and see what we have. But that's boring so if I had to make a trade I would do something more along the lines of:

F- Alex Turcotte
F- Akil Thomas
F- Grundstrum
D- Durzi or Clauge
2022 1st Round Pick
2022 2nd Round Pick

That seems fair to me.

Turcotte as the main piece? AHL players n picks? Adams hangs up.

Sabres aren’t trading him NOW. They can’t win on a trade even if they get back the best possible package from what each of the other 30 teams in the league could put out there. Eichel’s best years will evaporate in Buffalo. It’s fascinating to watch. From a distance.

LOL Turcotte is a 20 year old 5th overall draft pick. He isnt "some AHL player"

Arthur Kaliyev is 19 year old 2nd round pick

Walker is a 26 year old NHL Dman

Kempe is 24 year old 1st round pick

Pus 3 Draft picks in 2022

Your Comment is 100%, I never heard of these guys so they are garbage

So, won't include Byfield, but already have Kopitar at C and adding Eichel. So the plan is to have Byfield be the 3C long term? And if he pans out anywhere near as well as hoped, 25-30 million tied up in centers?

Kopitar will be 34 at the start of next season and he has a few more years left on that contract. So if LAK acquired Eichel it would be for an eventual 1-2 of Eichel and Byfield. If the trade occurred before next season, Kopitar would stay in the top 6 because he’s still producing at a high level. This would allow Byfield to transition to the top 6 by having him center the 3rd line with no pressure and get some PP time. That’s my guess.

Kopitar will eventually be the 3C, similar to the path that Thornton took in San Jose. Byfield will only be 23 when Kopitar is 38. When Byfield is due an extension after his ELC expires, Kopitar's contract will be off the books and he'll sign to a new, less lucrative one.

"Strong down the middle" is something Lombardi used to stress as being essential for a Stanley Cup contender. Having a 1-2-3 punch of Eichel-Byfield-Kopitar will ensure that they are just that.

More often than not, it ends up that the "delusional" fans were the ones who thought that they'd receive the moon for their team's player. When Eichel is eventually traded, you're liable to be a bit disappointed in the return and might even wish that you'd gotten one of these speculated LA packages, instead.

Top 5? Nope, first line center yes. But you forgot to mention disgruntled and could have a potential career injury. And not exactly garbage unless you’re just saying stuff not actually looking up or knowing about the pieces mentioned.

This just in: The Kings are reportedly front runners for Eichel but refuse to include Byfield in any discussions. Same goes for the Rangers and Lafreniere (I'm willing to bet it's not just a treatable injury that's precluding these players from being part of a deal)

It's all risk vs reward. Eichel will no doubt heal and continue to be a dominant player next season.

With that said, I wouldn't attempt to make a run at him and/or Reinhart at all if I were a GM. Both are toxic talents and should not have been given a letter just based off of ability. When you have the likes of Evander Kane mentoring young impressionable talent it's no surprise that your "captain" says "I have to put me first" during a locker cleanout interview.

You think talent carries you to a championship? Go ask the Leafs if heart beats talent come playoff time. Then ask the Oilers afterward. And every sterling annual example post Ron Tugnett kick save era.
