I have no problems with that. Some places don't hire smokers.
- kritter65

I’ve worked at places that don’t allow smoke breaks when you’re working too

On the surface, (some) ppl will say it’s discrimination

There’s a fine line i guess

Not according to people on this board. So come out and say I want to have Surgery, but the team holds the cards right now and won't let me. But know we now the therapy didnt work and team doctors have had time to look into this new type of Surgery and have said go ahead we support your decision. But know I am not comfortable with it. Be a interesting way to make yourself look like a real bumhole.

Teams desperate to win are still gonna want Jack
Half the league will still offer bids
And maybe 5 or so teams will likely make serious offers

I think we’ll be just fine

Is that from a source, or is that a opinion like everything else on here.

I’m (probably) not hiring anyone who isn’t vaccinated
It’s a public health issue imo

If someone doesn’t wanna get vaccinated,
that’s fine- they’ll just have to work somewhere else (most likely)

- jdfitz77

Seems extremely discriminatory and possibly violates hippa laws.

Yes - dear buffalo Sabres fan's ,
I would like to let you know that I'm doing everything I can to get healthy. I did a bunch of research, spending my own time reading up on the subject.
Unfortunately, the big bad corporate Sabres and their doctors want me to rest instead. Possibly 12 weeks isn't enough time? Could take longer if I go their route. 6+ months for old time surgery. I'm hoping to be ready for next season if they let me have my way. If not, I might be here or somewhere else and its not jack eichels fault.

I’d say discriminatory-ish is more appropriate
Depends how u wanna define it

Thing is:
employers are allowed to have reasons behind who they hire & who they don’t
Not “everything” is protected like age, sex, race & religion are.

And NY is an “at will” employment state,
where ppl can be fired (and not hired) without cause

His doctors agreed to it, and didn't say old time route, said the procedure he wants and if he has that Surgery and goes well he could be back on the ice by September. And if he or his Doctors had such a problem with the first phase or treatment he could have went to Arbitration.

Basically you are telling me what eichel's doctors told him?

And you feel confident that its accurate.

I'm skeptical and it's the Sabres doctor's that matter.

Everyone on the planet agrees that self healing without surgery is the best cautious route.

I mentioned that too. Leaks are bound to come out

Paul Hamilton after ROR mentioned his attitude and how he didn’t have his post practice practice / skills work. He stopped doing that

Best thing about that game was I didn’t buy tickets...
- Ratsreign

I was sort of surprised at how the physical intensity was turned down.
I realize it's hard to keep that up every game, but man it was a marked difference.

It's ridiculous, they're 20% over the ceiling. They should just do a taxi squad like this regular season for the playoffs instead of no cap. That would eliminate all the bullpoop.
- Wetbandit1

I agree that the no Cap in PO is dumb, and there needs to be the same Cap PO's. The fact there isn't is dumb and therefore expected from the NHL.

I don't know the details of the law, but common sense would be it's not discrimination if it's a health hazard and you choose to act in that way...then the person also chooses to limit their opportunities.
People will take it too far with examples were bigots could use that "choose to act" as well in extreme situations...

The Arb option is still an option once the initial recommended path does not yield the anticipated results.

Question though.
It seems to me that the "old" surgery of fusing the vertebrae would still be an option if the "new" replacement surgery were used and somehow another occurrence happened...where as vice-versa isn't true.
IF, and a big IF as it is merely conjecture on my part, that is true...where lies the problem?

If I were Jack, that would be the direction I would push for...leaving options for the future, rather than eliminating them.

Yes he could still do the Arb if he chooses, but he didn't have to say what he said on Monday and if he felt so strongly about the surgery he could have went right to arbitration not throw the team under the bus. IMO his doctors agreed with that first phase of recovery and that's why he didn't do that. And I don't know enough about this new surgery and how the fake disc would handle having a fusion done to it if it didn't work. It was all Jack positioning himself to get what he wants and Jack has to look out for Jack. But as a fan I want what's best for my Hockey team, and Jack could have hurt that with his statements if he's traded.

He acted like a very disgruntled player and obviously received coaching from his agent.
KA had some "clean-up" to perform last Wednesday with his opening comments and I thought did an admirable job in doing so.

I believe their is a big difference from between what information is shared with the fans/public and that of potential suitors in trade discussions. KA would have to disclose this information to any trade partner and deeper dives by that team's Medical and Hockey Ops teams would occur anyway.. .including discussions with Jack's Dr's and all options on the table.

His comment related to playing where ever that may be is affirmation he expects to be traded based on earlier comments about his dissatisfaction with an organization that just can't get it right, which was already public knowledge.

So, I just don't see any real depth to the "damage" by Jack's comments.

Good read, thanks for providing the link.

If Adams is smart, he would try to find two good suitors in the same division to trade each of Eichel and Sam...even same conference would work. Like Sam to LA and Eichel to Anaheim..or The Wild and VGK...
Create an arms race to drive up the return.
