"After a thorough head coaching search while experiencing a full process where i learned a lot, we felt that don granato is the man for the job. In his short time here he turned this club around and started to bring out the best in our young players despite the difficulties he faced. Terry and Kim were in full agreement when I presented them with this choice. this is why I wanted the sabres to hire a president of hockey ops. Let that guy chose the coach and let that guy try and sway Eichel and sam into staying.

I don't know for sure, that was also when Adams had to step behind the bench because of the covid crap to I believe. That could have changed plans.
