"Darren Dreger on Twitter: "Don Granato is a primary candidate for the head coaching job with the Sabres. GM, Kevyn Adams has talked to some college coaches to experience the full process. Adams is expected to meet with ownership this week to explain how he intends on moving forward. No rush." / Twitter" https://mobile.twitter.co...amp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

If they go inexperienced over a retread, just go with Granato.

I'm not even sold on a retread like Boudreau or Tortorella, but I can at least see the line of thinking.

Mostly, yeah. Had a great time with family. Had to take my son to the ER at 1 AM for croup symptoms. That was a pleasure. He's fine. There was no way anyone was gonna sleep anyways, so, there we went, to an out of state hospital. Other than that, great time

I'd put all my chips in on Donnie here. Based on what the team makeup is probably going to end up being, how do you remove a proven commodity? Anyone they hire needs to reach that benchmark, and they need to be sure that the next guy is even better than Donnie.

Looking forward to seeing who some of the interviews are.

I agree with this post.

Especially considering the expense cutting mandate from last season. Really doubt there's a cheaper option than donnie, definitely some more expensive veteran coaches available.

Also, almost unanimously every sabres fan "doesn't mind" the hiring. After 10 miserable years, that's a blessing by the fan base.

With Dustin Tokarski and Michael Houser? Sure you want to hedge your bets there?

pretty sure if we were getting 95 points a few years ago the goalies would have been addressed

It will be interesting, if Granato gets hired look for Nick Fohr, maybe Josh Brown to be brought in as assistant coaches or atleast talked to.

I need all of the coaches directly and indirectly responsible for the 2019 USA WJ team.

I'm barely being sarcastic. That team was a demo squad. Bring all that knowledge here.

There's a low probability of management doing an in-depth coaching search. Which is typical under the Pegulas. Kevyn "Yes-man" Adams is already headed to ownership with his findings after a couple college coaching interviews?

They're getting Donnie G on the cheap.

I agree, just saying these 2 guys have worked with Granato, and have been having success coaching younger players.

I don't know how you evaluate how these guys do their jobs. How do you definitively know whether or not a guy is good or needs to be replaced or upgraded? I think it's an interesting topic.
