They could be holding some guys out (like Lind) for games played reasons. There could be salary cap, or bonus issues that could hurt them next year if players reach a target.

Apparently Pettersson would have been due another few hundred k if he had played a few more games, which would have counted against next year's cap.

I read this somewhere a week ago. Lind has a bonus that kicks in after 6 games played.

Yeah he didn't look right/good on that play but I don't think its as much of a problem as some made it out to be. It was a bigger issue when he was coming back from his knee injury.
