Danault is a Selke nominee. you don't replace what he brings with a kid who played 50 games in the league.

its interesting to see how many have sent me messages panning my assessment of Ducharme's lines, particularly the comparison with Toronto's. Applying logic and not sentiment, it is practically impossible to argue any of Ducharme's lines or defensive pairings are comparable to those Toronto is using. Ducharme's configuration may have worked 20 years ago, but success is now unlikely using this maddening style.
- Jackie Daytona[unless Barry Trotz is the coach] This is partially why Toronto are such heavy favourites.

We can still win, but a lot needs to simultaneously go right for us and wrong for them. It is not impossible, but it is unlikely. I suggest it is also wise to look toward the potential benefits of losing to Toronto or Edmonton. The Habs will likely replace Bergevin and Ducharme, both have failed. We might be able to see Price and Weber moved without loosing assets. With KK and Druin likely moving this off-season, perhaps the new advisors will be able to recoup respectable assets. The Habs might begin to properly develop draft picks. We might finally see a proper rebuild that will make us cup favourites instead of hopelessly sneaking into the playoffs with a .429 win%.

Like most I also want the immediate gratification of winning, but the benefits of losing are immense.

Its just there is something about the way you write that makes me disagree with you even when I agree with what you said.

I think "pretentious" might be a word you're looking for? or maybe "the art of using many words while barely saying anything"..?

exactly. 2-3 years away.
if they want to rebuild and tank, yep, it could be a solution. if they want to try to compete... Danault will sign.

Stéphane Fiset (who works for the same firm as Danault's agent) confirmed no offer was actually made by the habs
