Hey Jack!!!
Over here.....$50,000,000 reasons why.

Not happening. He has a hammer next year in a TRADE scenario only.
He ain't sitting out.
JC! C'monman.
$50,000,000

Whatever money he is forced to give up by holding out he’d make back in endorsements alone if he’s playing in New York or Boston.

He’s also already made $20M + which would last anyone a life time.

Like I said, if he’s that determined he holds his own cards

Holdouts are as common as offer sheets. It won't come to that and ultimately he won't have much leverage even if he is here in 14 months.

And how many of those 660 players are better or on par than Jack Eichel ?

He has a unique leverage.

What did Chicago get in return for Panarin knowing that he was going to UFA in 2 years ?

That’s what I would expect for Jack.

- Pegullaville

He is not a UFA for 5 years, not compariable., he has zippo leverage and $50,000,000 reasons to show up and play.

If he sits out, any GM who isn't wearing a dress, or who wants to wear a dress...not that there's anything wrong with that, is going to let him sit and monthly mail him copy of his check that wasn't included.

He has zero, zippo, nada, none leverage.

Moving on now.

I’ll bookmark it though so when Eichel is dealt for half of what everyone is expecting I won’t have to deal with the “hindsight” and bs that everyone hit me with when I said Draisatil > Reinhart or that we should have let Skinner walk to UFA.

If he's dealt for half of everyone's expectations, though, it won't be because of some hypothetical scenario you've conjured up.

It'll be because of his injury.

Well until anything even happens all we have is a hurt franchise center. Have no expectations on what he brings back, just if he is traded hopefully the sum of the parts make us better.

No problem.

First, tell us what you now believe:
A) the reason for the devaluation
B) what you think everyone is expecting.
C) what you believe they will get due to "A)" above.

A) I treat him as a UFA as he will choose his spot. Just like Deshaun Watson will in a few months when he’s cleared of everything.

B)Expecting to get someone’s top prospect like Byfield/Laf.

C) a couple of B prospects and a cap dump to offset the $10M salary

Couldn't they get more for Sam and a relative Cap dump for 3 years? Do they need him, or does he get in the way of Cozens and Mitts development?
I guess I'm not sold on the value back, I'd want more.

Ok, how do you define B prospect?. Would that be like a CJ Smith in our system. Give me an example or two.

To me, Backlund helps offset the new salary Reinhart is going to command ($7M per).

Is his term likely one season too long? Possibly. You could always shift him to wing.

I toyed with making it Calgary's 1st this year instead of the Florida 2nd next year, but I think that would be too much for Calgary. I also initially thought of Lindholm for Reinhart, but Calgary wants more offense, and that trade for them doesn't make sense in that regard.

What I landed on was you're getting one of Calgary's top 2 prospects and a 2nd round pick.

How dare you question Terry’s hockey knowledge. The pegula’s clearly know more than you about hockey. You are a lowly FAN. What could you POSSIBLY know about the inner workings of icing a successful hockey team in the NHL! Buffalo is hockey heaven damn it! Just look at the success Terry and Kim have brought to the Buffalo Sabres...
