That is how thye get their message to more people... they find people sympathetic with a subject that is tangent to the issue and that helps amplify their message and create a general unhappiness / visceral reaction to covid policy.

So yeah, the golf-lovers are not being intentional about amplifying, and for the most part, not even aware what is happening.

So when I see these people posting on twitter (celebrities and "knowledgeable" sports people) I just laugh.
