Like I said, the Buch trade might make people scratch their heads however the thing is we dont need MORE players. We need to trim the lineup while also filling in where were lacking.
Josh Norris is a massive pipedream, like me and Barkov. It would have to be a massive overpay for OTT to even consider it. A trade for Norris that may require a few players and an overpay might be exactly what we need as far as a homerun/blockbuster move, I just dont see it happening.
As far as Gauthier goes, maybe youre right, he might be able to be that player and Im not against holding onto him and maybe in the right system he can.
If we cant land Reaves, a guy like Martinook could be available as a FA. Carolina has to resign Hamilton and Svechnikov, as well as a bunch of bottom 6 guys which might mean they let him walk.
As far as a 4th line center, I think were ok with Rooney/Barron. We cant sign anyone to anything majorly significant for that because of how much we will tie up the following year in FA signings leaving a very tight margin for resigning LAF and Miller. - aecliptic
Did I miss something? When did Josh Norris become Conner McDavid |

Its not that hes McDavid, but hes 22 years old and their franchise #1. If you were rebuilding a franchise would you rather have Josh Norris or Chytil and Buch? |

Hes not untouchable, but it would have to be an offer that they cant refuse. Also, the last thing OTT needs is more wingers and RHD. If youre gonna take a C, you gotta give one back. I suspect they'd want a LD.
So if I was making an offer on Norris, it would start with Miller and Chytil. |

Could is not what GM's care about when theyre trading an is. Chytil is compared to some extent to a young Mika. Im sure OTT hasnt forgot about him.
Just cause you have your list of guys you want to trade doesnt mean it matches up to what other teams are seeking.
If I was OTT GM and the call didnt start with K'Andre Miller, I wouldnt even finish the conversation. |

Yeah, what a surprise
If anyone doubted we need to add size and toughness, just watch any of these game 1's We would have gotten bulldozed

100%
Unrelated, but watching Poiht, Chytil needs to become what he is. Little bigger version. |

I blame that FLA loss on coach Q.
When they went up 4-3, he should have called a time out and settled the team down. Tampa was winning the mental battle in getting FLA to take bad penalties. |

Every team would love their underwhelming high end center pick to play like Point. |

No, but they could have been a lot worse. It was not an easy game to officiate. |

Can someone tell me how Norris is an untouchable? Especially when have assets to get someone, almost anyone if you think about it.
And btw, it really annoys me that Jan and posters tell ME something WILL NOT happen. None of you are in these GM rooms, so stop acting like it Another reason this board becomes intolerable sometimes
Sorry for the brute honesty š¤·š»āāļø - Slimtj100
Josh Norris isn't gonna be traded because team's dont trade young centers still on their ELCs after solid rookie seasons
they build around those guys
unless they can pair the Tkachuk brothers up, that's only way they'd do it |

how do you give up a home run pass like that with just over a minute left in a tied playoff game
it's already overtime at that point, have a little defensive awareness, yikes |

Theyre definitely missing Ekblad on the blueline.
They were also over committed to playing the physical game leaving too many gaps on the ice. It was fine up until the third but they needed to cool it, however Tampa had the mental edge and experience and sucked them in.
I dont think FLA has to change much, but they need to be a bit more disciplined. If not for that bad penalty on Bennett in the 3rd that lead to a PPG they had a good shot to take that game. |

Florida doesn't look like they have the capability of killing a single Tampa powerplay
I think last night was Florida's chance to make this a good series, this is gonna be over quick
I can't believe how good Kucherov looked in his first game
