Leafs 7-1-2 last 10. Playing poorly, not ready for the playoffs. Can't turn a switch to be playoff ready.

Habs 4-4-2 last 10. They're not playing great but they can hit the switch to play playoff hockey.

Ok then.

Once the playoffs start, nothing else matters. The regular season and past performance are meaningless. Even the Leafs history of choking in round 1 does not matter.

What matters is the first shift, playing sound positional hockey and taking advantage of the opportunities as they occur.

I believe this is the year that the Leafs will overcome the demons of their past. I believe they will convincingly win the first playoff round against the Canadiens.

I cant read anything into that game. The team looked thoroughly unmotivated. I am not sure home ice is that meaningful, especially this year. I also don't think they had a chance at 1st overall in light of other results. If they could play the entire Marlies team on Friday, that would be great.

They're in real trouble if they need to play Andersen in the playoffs though.

Some people are so clueless, and so consistently wrong, then when they predict a Leafs victory, I think there is real cause for concern.

The Habs have 2 potential advantages, both big, Goaltending, and nobody expects them to win, so they can play like they have nothing to lose.

The Leafs have either learned from the past few years, and are willing to put in the work, or they haven't.

Hard to evaluate anything from last nights ‘game’. Leafs were obviously not engaged. Hopefully Friday they will be ready to play considering they are playing another playoff team they could potentially meet in round 2.

Also hard to evaluate Freddy. He was shaky, but that is expected after a long layoff. However, I don’t see how you can start him in the playoffs. Got to go with Campbell. Freddy just looks so slow and sometimes out of position. For such a big guy he also looks small in the net. The first Sens goal, Freddy looked like he was about 2 feet to far to the right. The other goals he was swimming. The OT goal wasn’t his fault.

I would expect that the Leafs, and the Jets, stay away from the nasty stuff and have a nice, uninspired game. There is nothing to play for, for either team.

You know, despite not wanting the Leafs to ever win anything.

Jumbo Joe winning the cup would be quite the Ray Bourque moment. It would be nice to watch.

I imagine the Cup handoff will go: Jerry to Snake to Jumbo to Vintage to Tony

So if I understand the standings tie-breakers correctly, the Leafs finish ahead of the East right? So that's good news for their inevitable 3rd round appearance.

The standings seem more lopsided this season, and the playoff teams are very close. Some real clash of the titans.
