Lebrun eh..? was he presenting this as basically being a confirmed fact, or simply a rumor circulating around? Pierre rarely brings up BS lol... also IF it's true I'm still convinced the deal was that Staal would get sufficient ice time to prove himself, and not a 100% guarantee to play no matter what his performance is. that just sounds so dumb it can't be true lol

I'm not saying that's what your indicating, I'm just saying when Point, Marchand, or Gallagher fall beyond the 2nd, every scout has clearly failed to recognize their potential or else they would have gone earlier. Getting draft steals like these are more a product of good luck more than drafting skill, so they are not good examples to use to say a team is great at drafting. I'd say a team like the Penguins has managed to do well with what can be considered average drafting. After drafting Crosby and Malkin which any idiot could have done, it's not like they were surrounded by phenomenal draft steals to build a dynasty.
