He’s not entirely wrong though.
Skinner is going to be an okay player on a bad team and will be on the wrong side of his career when this team is hopefully trending up in 3 years.
I don’t think he hits 30 again for the life of that contract. - ImThatGuy
Keeping a 4.5mil cap hit blows too
As multiple others have told him
A buyout would work better |

There is opportunity to make this team better in a lot of ways this offseason. I will wait to even talk about Jack and Rhino, we just don't know enough yet. But improvement can come from the expansion draft and teams possibly looking to move decent players for picks instead of losing someone for nothing to Seattle. The draft where we are guaranteed a top 3 pick. To teams needing to possibly get under the cap. And then throw in the possibilities of what pieces could be added with Eichel and Rhino if moved. Very intriguing. |

Or don’t spend to the point in which you have to juggle your lineup based on a hard cap that was set before the beginning of the league year ?
Just a thought - Pegullaville
I’d like to see teams on this situation get fined
And then the amount of fines they acquire this season go on to their Cap for next season,
so they’ll have less room |

It is intriguing.
Do you have any faith, real faith, that after today that the brainless trust wont completely poop the bed on returns for these guys?
I don't...not even 1 ounce of faith.
This team is forever fvcked as long as their name is associated with it. |

Oh wait, multiple non-hockey non-experts on a message board told me I'm wrong? THEN I MUST BE WRONG!
Oh wait, no, your buyout idea is quite dumb. You have to plan to circumvent three random hikes in the cap. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
You're in a no-win situation with Skinner. I'm just offering what MIGHT be the lesser of three evils. |

You’re just here being obnoxious
Come up from your parents basement & make a sandwich
Maybe mommy will cut the crust off for ya
Worry about your own team

Why would I make a sandwich and then ask my mom to cut the crust off? That makes no sense. Either she does it or I do it.
Even your insults are remedial. |

If the Sabres are trading 16 mil worth of salary in Eichel and Reinhart, and more than likely another 5.4 in Risto, they should be doing the opposite of paying for someone to take Skinner
They should be offering to take dead weight for some assets.
They aren’t competing for a damn thing for the next 2-3 years without 9 and 23. |

Negative faith!
Add an experienced president and have Kim renounce anything sabres. And I might get to zero faith... |

I’m not sure I’ll be able to root against Eichel against us going forward
This organization and ownership deserves to be embarrassed on a grand scale worse than the ROR trade |

You have some solid young players starting to make their mark. Yes, you're going to get set back now for 2-3 years, but taking on some problematic contracts, depending on the length could put you in an even worse situation three years from now when you want to build around those players.
Not saying this is a bad idea, but you need to be careful with the length of those garbage contracts.
EDIT: Waiting another two or three years might be easier for ridding yourself of Skinner. With less term left on his contract you may have more options.
Again, this all comes down to what the team plans is. If they think they can move Eichel and get pieces that make you competitive now, they may go that route. |

I think there should be a Jack for Jack trade
TO NJD: Jack Eichel
TO BUF: Jack Hughes, Mercer Dawson, 2021 1st + 2022 2nd - Rinosaur

I think it’s a fair trade that makes sense for both sides, although I’m sure some Devils fans might feel differently.
It accelerates NJD’s rebuild, doesn’t derail yours too badly and let’s you pile a few more futures. |

I have to apologize for some of the buzzards around here. It's interesting to get some neutral fan's opinions and ideas.
Every Sabres fan had a bad day today.
He gone and he's devaluing himself on the way out.

Much appreciated. I’m not here to try and argue lol.
I have a few buddies who are die hard Sabres fans and this has been like the final straw for them. |
