It’s not just the defensemen, our forwards have to help out. My favorite forward (Hino) lost the puck at the blue line three times in the first ten minutes of the period, but who’s counting. Don’t do it Stan, the Hawks have enough middle six and bottom six players, some of them are currently playing top six, just add top six talent and have these guys slot down.

It was actually Suter that was beaten by his man to the far post. That is the forwards responsibility no matter what defensive system you play.

It appears that the Blackhawks are spending an inordinate amount of time chasing the puck around the defensive zone.

Isn’t the defenseman - who was at that post - supposed to be backing up the forward instead of chasing the puck to the other side of the ice?

Suter got beat - someone should have been there, instead of leaving Pavelski all alone.

He didn’t cover for Z, but why is Z chasing out at the point? When players are freaking mites the coach puts them down low, on either side of the net and tells them to knock the puck away if it comes near. The game isn’t that complicated.

Call me crazy, but I’d prefer defenseman be defending down low, and the forwards cover the points.

And who covers the guy in the slot? I played defense in a zone system, weak side (far post) is weak side defensive forwards responsibility. At least in the system I was taught

I'm fine with the defense he provides. I'm not for protecting him, but am fine if he stays.
