Yup I agree. I like Hyman alot but they win just the same without him. I might think about letting him walk regardless and use the savings and take a run at Hamilton. Let Andersen walk as well and run with Campbell. Hamilton-Campbell at 10 mill over Hyman-Andersen IMO. Stuff to ponder over me thinks.

Hyman will likely take 4.5 mil AAV. He'll likely want term more than anything. I'd be surprised if he didn't re-sign with the Leafs.

I pass on a Campbell-Hamilton combo. I’d rather spend the money on Grubaur if he hits the market or maybe one of the Arizona goalies. I really, really don’t want to get into a bidding war on the most expensive guy on the market and think you can get better value if you trade Rielly, get some pieces, being Sandin up, and sign what you need to fill any holes.

Its kinda like the Keefe hate and he has won the most thru 100 in Leaf history and the Dubas hate and I think they have said he is approaching best Gm winning % in Leaf history since the start of his tenure. Its as the saying goes, Leaf fans don't like nice things.

Stuff like this, makes it possible for a team like the Leafs to find themselves in the finals. Stay healthy, use your depth, keep the games to the minimum to win a playoff round and hope to catch a team that had played a 7 game war to get there.

Until they actually start winning some playoff rounds, you can't put these laurels on people like Keefe and Dubas. They have to win in the playoffs before this can happen.

Points isn’t everything....his age would be my only worry...I’m sure Doobie can get him signed for 5 years or less though.

We have guys that rack up some points for the same reason ( playing with franchise players ) and I wouldn’t play them In the final 5 mins if trying to hold a lead. Hyman would be 1 of the 1st over the boards.

You confuse hate with the thought that there might be better goalies available. I’m very happy with the job he’s done but the season is a lot of playing. I think that there are better goalies in the League and some of them might be available and Campbell as a 1b might be a great situation to be in.

Hutch I hate. Campbell I like. I want to love my starter. Maybe I’ll be in love by the end of the playoffs. Let’s see who’s available in the summer before we turn Jack into Johnny Bower.

Actually, you can acknowledge and appreciate that this is an amazingly good hockey team that has dominated the division. Or you can female dog and whine based on the performance of previous teams. It kind of depends on what turns your crank.
