Torts will not return in CBJ - glennjpawlak22
Whereever he goes rest assured he will help some players develop and one or more will rebel. Torts rubs players the wrong way for both good or not of team and players.
I do not want Torts in Chicago.
But Colliton must get his system better attuned with players and same attitude with break out. If not then he hangs his job opportunity here with the rope he provides himself. |

Just hoping no one gets seriously hurt in the last 2 games we definitely don't need any more of that we've had enough of that already. Hopefully, Stan & Co. have a good offseason Draft/Free Agency. The team comes back stronger with a good training camp and some players take the next step. Like someone posted let's see if this season was a fluke or they build off it and make it really fun to watch next season especially if this team makes fans from Trashville continue to cry. I guess they are still Butt Hurt from getting SPANKED. Overall all things considered at the start of the season with all the injuries and the expert's predictions. This team surprised me and was entertaining to watch and along the way proved the experts wrong. Better Days are coming |

Well with both Dallas and Hawks out of the tournament have to think these 2 games will hopefully not be too hard hitting for both teams |

Just Barratt?
Good
See why he is part of the future and you already know that Strome is not.
Wondering if Regula may turn out similar to Murphy style wise. Hopefully a tad better skater? Hopefully his shot is a weapon but first he has to be solid defensively. We don't know how physical he will be but at his age and development junction, there is room to get stronger and figure to what degree he is willing to be physical as in checking.
Phillips has the raw tools, the talent. Strong already; you mentioned previously that oncoming players skate into Phillips and Moberg and - jhawk59[opposing] player falls down. I realize you said he needs to keep developing. If he keeps improving then he may be a candidate for the physical dman in a third pair NHL.
So we have possibilities of Regula, Phillips, and Vlasic as physical dmen. Interestingly each skates well or at least average (Regula).
Duets concussions and fragility of our offensive touted top dmen prospects - including Boqvist - I would not be upset if Bowman drafted the dman whom wiz has slotted in his mock draft/rating.
My thinking is, will Boqvist have a career marred by concussions and can Beaudin develop into a solid preventive defensively as he has offensive tools/smarts
Not saying you’re the one who claimed this but lately I’ve read articles and social media posts about Regula being a bruising rearguard for the Hawks. I just don’t see that at all.
Whether in London or in Rockford, Regula hasn’t been that type of D-man. His scouting reports never describe him that way either.
I think people see his size and label him as a physical defender when he’s really not if you actually watch him play.
He has potential to play reliable defense but more so in the way Boqvist, Beaudin, and Kalynuk do.
Mitchell has the higher probability of being the most physical of this bunch, IMO.
Of the big D prospects, Phillips and Moberg are the most physical, taking the body and dishing hits.
Vlasic is in between these two and Regula, i.e. has the size to dominate but is going to use his wing span and other tools to lock it down rather than brute force. |

There's a report out that Eddie Olczyk has agreed to a contract with Turner making him the lead analyst for their hockey broadcasts. |

Read somewhere, forgot where, maybe the Rink or Athletic or SecondCityHockey, that Bowman said on a recent podcast he wants to add impact players in the next 12-18 months. So that's next summer into early the 21/22 season. That tells me that he realizes he doesn't have top talent on team or in the system, and that he wants to ice a better team at that time.
Coincidentally, I have mentioned before the Hawks should sign some big name UFA's like Barkov and Jones next summer. |

I heard a report sometime late in his junior career that the Hawks wanted him to go to Rockford and become a shutdown defender. Which surprised to hear somewhat but I figured that would help him get to the NHL. Obviously you see his size and figure, how might he use his size advantage. Perhaps the remark I heard can be attributed to this gazing into the crystal ball and wishing. Obviously most if not nearly all players need to get stronger by the time they get to the NHL and then stronger, better conditioning once here. I see Regula skate and I look at his game and I see shades of Murphy. But the kid will receive good coaching so I guess we just watch as he matures and see how he turns out. There are many prospects whom could reach NHL but how many evolve into a better than third pair? If I had to guess I think it is more unusual for players to turn from a weakling into say what Bennett made of himself. Regula has the size if he later wants to be a tough dman. |

The Daily Faceoff had a recent podcast featuring Bowman where he discusses this, i.e. pursuing impact players. I have the podcast saved to listen to later. |

After you hear the podcast, maybe you could consider this valid consideration on behalf of any players who might debate whether Chicago is a good new home:
Playing in Colliton's system and with a preponderance of young players on defense. In fact young players sprouting up everywhere. Want to be a part of that?
Take S Jones as a free agent as an example. He experienced the Chicago defense as the Blue Jackets played the Blackhawks often this past season
Would he rather play for a different coach, different defense and not so many kids filtering in. |

Entwistle has done nothing to dissuade my belief that he will be the Blackhawk’s 3rd line center in 2 years. |

All these goals aren’t helping the Hawks case for a better draft pick. Another Bowman fail. |

ADB nets his 30th. 3rd in NHL. Not bad for a “role player”!! |

3-1 damn Hawks. Red font. Sort of. |

I'd rather see compete & effort over a potential lottery spot. Instill winning into these young players in every game (even when mathematically eliminated). |

Honestly, I'd like them to do less backwards passing. Kane does it a poop ton. That is the major reason they turnover the puck. Other than that, I'm not upset. Winning board battles, getting second opportunities, & blocking shots. Carry this game forward & stick with the youth plan. I'm not upset with this ending. |

Is there any point in playing Kane 22 minutes in a meaningless game. He has played 14:36 through two periods. 7 forwards have played less than 11 minutes. Just roll 4 lines. Double shift multiple players. Not just Kane. |

I like the jump Gaudette and Stillman bring. I hope we protect them and expose Strome and deHaan. |

de Haan will be exposed, Strome will be traded (poorly timed of course). |

Draft picks be damned, nice to see another rookie score his 1st goal |

Theo, after you listen to it, perhaps you can use it as a subject for a future blog along with your thoughts on who these possible additions may be.

Looks like he's going to be a point per game player this year, plus he plays defense, and wins board battles, something Sharp never accomplished |

As long as Strome, deHaan, and Z are wearing visitors jerseys when they play in the UC next year. That is $10 mil cap savings. I don’t think Seattle will take deHaan. We made need to trade him and Strome for 7th round picks and let Z go for nothing.

Sharpie was a really good top 6 player. I think ADB will be too. |

With 5 rookie forwards on the ice, skating only 11, yeah, using Kane as a “teacher” is ok with me. |

Beaudin is young and might get a lot better, but right now he seems to take a long time to process. Similar to Strome and Nylander. |
