I would be happy if the team in general, got more physical. This pansy hockey that they play, is hard to watch...oh yeah, I barely watch nowadays.
Will watch when Gadjovich is in the lineup though.

Have noticed a severe lack of hitting as well. I can understand the forecheck to get in a disrupt passes... but they're not even finishing checks when that's not an option. The Oilers were running around at one point last game cranking up the hits, and the Canucks had zero response.

Hopefully whoever replaces TG this offseason will replace that mindset as well

I have the NHL package and can tell you this, any CAN team will be punished physically by the US playoff teams.

I would like to see Schmidt hit him open ice like he did to Archibald last game, McDivit plays on the edge of dirtiness and needs a good ole upper body hit, but of course DOPS will give Schmidt a 3 gamer and McDinglenuts will get pampered.
- Makita

That's not very nice. Funny as hell though.

Yup, the easy train stops after the 2nd round. I miss rugged hockey.

I forgot Canucks lost JV so guess Motter needed for the 3rd line and lockwood can rotate in for the pounders on the 4th.

But why not 3 centers deep with JTM? BB, Hogs, Pearson and Podz are enough to fill the top six wings.

- NuckUp

I like JTM with Petey and BB, Bo with Pearson, and one of Hoglander and/or Podz
Graovac is making me think he may be a very nice fit as the 4th line C leaving the 3rd looking like

Motte
MOTTE/LIND- NOT SURE - one of PODS/ HOGS/PEARSON

4TH LIND
HAWRYLUK- GRAOVAC- MAC
Extras -Gadjovich(maybe), Highmore,

I think the reason I like JTM with the top line is without him there is no snarl at all o the line and he creates space for the other 2. That said even as I write this I like that bottom six more than some of the configurations I have seen over the last few years.
As I have said before 3rd line centers don't grow on trees and I doubt Lind is ready maybe in a couple of years. So yes there is work to do but the framework is there for a re-jigged bottom six , but they have to approach it like they are now and let the kids play and get used to it and stop using veterans as a crutch.

Been going on for years with this team. If I want to watch a no hitting league, I would subscribe for the NCAA hockey package.

The most physical team in the North is Ottawa. They will be a good team in a couple more seasons.

It is amazing what gets credited as a hit by the stats collectors.
I watched one player make 4 hits in 1 shift, all clean nice hits and got credited with 1 hit.
Pretty sure it was because the player was in an away game and the homer factor.

I watched the WAS v NYR game the other day, and that was pretty heavy. I mean, factoring in the Wilson thing and all the scraps... Washington was still a heavy heavy team on the forecheck. The Canucks flybys are just crap and largely ineffective.

That’s Mr. McDinglenuts to you

I mean, yeah, I’m all for wrecking the other teams stars, but wouldn’t you love a player on the Canucks who was a little dirty, with speed to burn and the skill to finish?

Our guys are either fast OR skilled Or dirty.

They can always put the Lotto line together in game for a push. Plus they play PP1.

But playing JTM at center creates 3 balanced lines. Also Podz has the same physical side to create space and is a better playmaker then JTM.

Maybe instead of a bottom 6 fix do a balanced top 9 with some PK/energy/toughness from the 4th approach.

Tanev was willingly let go and upgraded on with Schmidt. Toffoli was replaced by the younger and faster Hoglander
- Nucker101

In hindsight but not planned and still lost assets as the cost.

So Pods is already as good as JTM? Or JTM is as bad as Pods?

Sean Monahan is the #1 pillow fighter in the NHL! And it’s not even close. Did you not see the feather beating he laid on Nugent Flopkins?

Neither was said. But he's got a toolset to allow JTM to stay at center. If he can hit camp like Hogs then he could play with Petey.
