How would you fight Chara? You can't get near him because his arms are so long. He's weightlifter strong so you can't get any leverage. You'd have to be like Tie Domi and keep moving around hoping to tire him out. But Domi had a cement face and could take punches. You're basically (frank)ed. |

You have to try to take out his legs like an ATAT in Empire Strikes Back. |

Marleau has had a decent career.
But man, he was barely a PPG for like two seasons, and then he was consistently under.
1200 points in nearly 1800 games is not HOF worthy. Maybe if he had lead teams to a cup or something you could make the leadership argument, but you can't do that either.
Marleau is a career fringe first line player, not a Hall of famer - Leafs43
Played for Team Canada I believe. I wouldn’t say he was a fringe 1st line player...but that’s just my opinion.
He is now of course |

Does that really excite you?
You tune into Sharks games because you get a rush from watching an old guy go through the motions to break Howe’s record?
In his day, Lindros was the most exciting player in the game. You had to watch him.
When the Flyers came to town, there was added buzz in the air. The crowd new he was in the building.
The franking voters made Lindros wait to get in.
Yet the Gartners and Marleaus are automatic. - Atomic Wedgie
I do have some issues with how Marleau broke the record. He refused to rest up for upcoming playoff games with the Leafs and he joined a Sharks team that had no chance this year to keep going and break the frecord.

No, everybody was playing and having fun but I saw the record for longest time treading water and I said to myself “I’m going to Marleau that sucker”. |

Is playing a lot of games really a criteria to put you in the HHOF? I prefer going by goals, points and individual awards. |

HHOF is for players that were the best in the game.
Its extremely hard to play 1800 games. If it was easy every player would do it.
Just like it is to score 900 goals.
Both are as equally as difficult. Chara will be a HHOF for being good at a "boring" style of play.
No one cares if you think its boring or not...its about doing things other players haven't been able to achieve. |

Brooks back in tonight. So when Foligno and Hyman are back, who sits? Mik? Engvall? Brooks? |

That is fine for your criteria.
I mentioned earlier the idea of being good enough to get a contract and roster spot for 1800 games. Let alone avoiding injury. |

Brooks then Engvall you forgot Riley Nash, Sandin not expected back in the regular season. He'll be back but Leafs need some cap space to insert Nash before the end of the season. Sandin back for game 1 of the playoffs for sure.

Chara will be in the HHOF for the record for most uncalled cross-checks in the history of the NHL.

No chance that Simmonds sits, he will be the first to pullverize Chiarot when that talentless goon attempts to get a bonus for taking out a star player

Is Nash ready to play? I had figured that was a few games in. I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept Brooks around. He’s been moving the puck well, clearing the zone, helping keep possession and creating chances. If they move the elders back, he fits nicely.
Mik and Simmonds have just not done the things you expect them to do.
Maybe they just go with the depth chart though. |
