I know I'm an idiot, most of you hate my opinions. Blah, blah, blah, Yada, yada, yada.
In my opinion of Ghost, we've hung on to him for two years too long. Even when he was putting up elite offensive numbers from the blue line, most of us knew he wasn't good defensively. Most of us knew that once Provorov, Sanheim and Myers came in, he was gonna come less Necessary. This isn't hindsight. At this point, it doesn't matter what he does, he'll never live up to his rookie season or his career high of 65 points. Since the career season, he's only gotten older, become more injury prone and more exposed defensively. The only thing that might make him appealing in an offseason move is his deal is fair. I'm at a point where trading him doesn't even matter anymore, so if Seattle takes him, they take him.
As for maybe trading Ghost two seasons ago to the Maple Leafs that probably would have listened to all offers for Kadri to improve their starving defense, it's obviously not healthy to dwell on the passed. As much as I don't care for Hayes, he's here. Mark my words though, for all who can't wait to remove Voracek from the books, I can only imagine how you're gonna feel about Hayes two seasons down the road. Flaws and all, at least Voracek is still productive. At least Voracek is a "go to guy". I don't even know what to call Hayes right now. - SuperSchennBros
Hayes is in rough shape. I'm not sure what he is that is point in his career either.
Ghost was the background on my phone his rookie season. The organization hadn't had a guy like that in a while, if ever in my time watching. Certainly not post 2004. I was super excited about him as a player. But it's clear, that after his magic early on, teams read the book on him, adjusted, and exposed him to be what he truly is: Supbar defense, and a bag of tricks that is easily exploited by other teams. He never adjusted that, ended up getting some injuries, in out and out of the lineup, and now he's a shell of what his potential early on was hinting he would be. Love the guy, but his time here is up.

What on earth was wrong with Mark Friedmann ?
I find it rather strange and even more so that he was moved to Penguins from Hextall the guy who drafted him - goenzoy

Kadri was traded for Barrie and Kerfoot... Barrie coming off consecutive near 60-pt seasons and Kerfoot consecutive 40-pt seasons. What kind of package with Ghost would have beat that? - Tomahawk
Don't ruin this man's fantasy armchair GM trade.
It's been a rough season for us and maybe he needs this to escape? |

Love.
You canât really gripe about him too much. He was one of the better players in the league for the flyers for a long time and then fetched a ridiculous haul on the way out. |

I wish he wouldn't have clanged the puck of Niemi's mask in the biggest moment of his Flyers career. |

I dont think anyone will argue that Ghost doesnt deserve a suspension but its just ridiculous how Wilson got Nothing but a fine for worse. Anyone defending him is clueless.
When players fight, punches stop being thrown the second a player goes down on the ice. Two fighting players never punch a guy lying on the ice. Wilson did this THREE TIMES! He punched a defenseless Buchnevich laying on the ice Multiple times, Strome Came to his aid Wilson took him down to the ice and proceed to punch him while he lies on the ice. Then Panarin comes in, Wilson Body Slams him to the ice and punches him repeatedly while he is on the ice.
This Was NOT a fight and it WASNT a Scrum. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
The league gets to set the standards for itâs business so the league just let the players and teams know hitting from behind after a goal is not acceptable. Slamming heads with partial body weight then punching the same prone player in the head is OK. If someone tries to stop you you pull that player down backwards by his hair while shoving him in the chest followed up by punching his head into the ice.
There was a time when the goons would not go after the others teams best, finesse, non fighting players but I guess times have changed.
I guess if the league doesnât suspend the player they are telling the teams to handle it on your own. |

I get that, and I wonât say that doesnât suck. But it doesnât undo the sample size. My main sticking memory of ryan howard erupting his ACL while making the final out against the cardinals in 2011. |

Itâs always interesting to see that hockey only gets front page coverage from the major sites, which I refuse to mention their names, when what they consider is negative stuff thatâ harms the gameâ. Hypocrites!! You know what, I love fighting in the game and Iâm not ashamed to say it. Those so called âsports aficionados â wonât cover the game regardless so I as a fan may as well enjoy the parts of the game that I grew up with. It was great to see players taking matters into their own hands. All the fights were good old fashioned slobber knockers! Loved it! - HockeyLifer

Man, not only was that Howardâs last memory you see, but that was also the last out of our teamâs window. We were never as good after that. It was almost like a Greek tragedy moment when Howard went down. |

Youâre right about that. I get it being hard to let go, but they hung on to the carcass for a year or two too long and it made it harder to restart. Itâs tough for me to fault that too much though.
Hey, four in a row this afternoon. |

What did we give up to get Matt Niskanen or Justin Braun? I know the answer but the point is, we made moves and we had pieces to move. Ghost was a year removed from a 65 point season at that time. Two years later and weâre still unhappy with our roster. - SuperSchennBros
Well we know Dubas wanted a cheaper 3C to replace Kadri, so Fletch could have offered Laughts (who is arguably worse than Kerfoot), and Ghost (who was coming off a really down year) and still come up short of what COL was peddling.
I like Kadri, and IMO he would have been a better fit than Hayes here, but they really didn't have the C and RHD that the Leafs were looking for. |

Iâm not saying it would have happened and obviously we donât know if any conversations were had but man, Iâm tired of watching this team put themselves in a really good situation just to piss it away. I never saw a need for Braun, Hayes IS overpaid, I donât care what anyone says and Ghost we hung on to for way too long. |
