Are they really starting York paired with Morin tomorrow? Is this coaching staff on drugs? - StepfordSam
They are going to rotate around personnel, per AV. But that was a pairing today and they will likely start the game together their first shift or two. |

Buch gets 1 game for crossing checking guy intentionally in face. But Ghosts gets 2. - arichardson22
How many games? ...where the wheel lands is anyone’s guess.
No one wants to hear this, but I wondered if Friedman embellished a bit. With no history of supplemental discipline, Ghost’s punishment is strange. It was after the whistle so maybe that is why it was more than a penalty and warning. 2 games though.

We’ve had the passed number of offseason to move Ghost. The Flyers probably could have traded Ghost for Kadri who can do as much as Hayes as a lesser cost. The Flyers chose not to. - SuperSchennBros
Kadri was traded for Barrie and Kerfoot... Barrie coming off consecutive near 60-pt seasons and Kerfoot consecutive 40-pt seasons. What kind of package with Ghost would have beat that? |

Foerrster’s play is really standing out. He’s not just a sniper. Kid can pass sprung a great stretch pass to York last night and they connected on a different goal too. If the kid is standing out in Lehigh how do you let him go back to junior next year? |

I didn't. It was a hit well after an empty net goal. No way he'd have expected that kind of hit. I was expecting one game but I'm not bothered by two. |

The Ghost suspension was fine. Not tossing Thug Wilson for at least 10 is where DOPs and the NHL poop the bed.

It has gotten so comical that I just can’t offer any support to their decisions. The DoPS has made me a skeptic.
When time and again they make baffling no suspension decisions on dangerous plays, then bring the hammer down soft on a play that caused injury to the head or missed games, yet come down hard on first offenders with no injury on the play (only from certain teams perhaps), I just think they turned themselves into a joke.

What did we give up to get Matt Niskanen or Justin Braun? I know the answer but the point is, we made moves and we had pieces to move. Ghost was a year removed from a 65 point season at that time. Two years later and we’re still unhappy with our roster. |

Yes. If I'm a teammate of Ghosts, I look at that as gutless bull. You don't like a guy? Fine, he squared up multiple times with everyone that came at him, and it seemed settled. To pop a guy after an empty net goal like that? Cowardly stuff, and something that if I was a COACH would sour me on a guy pretty quick. Deserved both games.
The Wilson thing is a miscarriage of justice at this point, and good on the Rangers last night, they did what they had to do, what the league would not. You think the suits loved seeing line brawls last night on a nationally televised game? That was an embarrassment, and it was all their fault. |

Who cares what the suits wants. Leopards don’t change their spots and the suits are trying to change a game they was built some stuff. Has times changed? Absolutely. But deep down within the heart of hockey, fans were entertained by that last night. I promise you, guys who feel the way I do aren’t just on these message boards, they’re in the dressing room and on the ice too. They’re still prideful men. |

Yes, rereading what I wrote, I can see how you might think I didn't fully enjoy the fun last night. But the point still stands, it didn't have to happen that way, and the NHL has spent now two decades trying to shed that "wrestling" type reputation in it's sport, but because of their failure, it was on full display last night.
Again, good on the Rangers. Wouldn't have minded seeing Wilson get more than what he got. |

No I understand what you’re saying and I agree completely. I don’t want things to get rough for any team but if things find themselves reaching this point for my team, I want my team to be the stronger team. Good for Farabee for challenging Friedman. |

I know I'm an idiot, most of you hate my opinions. Blah, blah, blah, Yada, yada, yada.
In my opinion of Ghost, we've hung on to him for two years too long. Even when he was putting up elite offensive numbers from the blue line, most of us knew he wasn't good defensively. Most of us knew that once Provorov, Sanheim and Myers came in, he was gonna come less Necessary. This isn't hindsight. At this point, it doesn't matter what he does, he'll never live up to his rookie season or his career high of 65 points. Since the career season, he's only gotten older, become more injury prone and more exposed defensively. The only thing that might make him appealing in an offseason move is his deal is fair. I'm at a point where trading him doesn't even matter anymore, so if Seattle takes him, they take him.
As for maybe trading Ghost two seasons ago to the Maple Leafs that probably would have listened to all offers for Kadri to improve their starving defense, it's obviously not healthy to dwell on the passed. As much as I don't care for Hayes, he's here. Mark my words though, for all who can't wait to remove Voracek from the books, I can only imagine how you're gonna feel about Hayes two seasons down the road. Flaws and all, at least Voracek is still productive. At least Voracek is a "go to guy". I don't even know what to call Hayes right now. |

It’s always interesting to see that hockey only gets front page coverage from the major sites, which I refuse to mention their names, when what they consider is negative stuff that” harms the game”. Hypocrites!! You know what, I love fighting in the game and I’m not ashamed to say it. Those so called “sports aficionados “ won’t cover the game regardless so I as a fan may as well enjoy the parts of the game that I grew up with. It was great to see players taking matters into their own hands. All the fights were good old fashioned slobber knockers! Loved it! |

He is really looking like a great pick. Obviously no one thought him and Wisdom would be with the Phantoms, and when they got there I don’t think anyone expected them to make this level of impact at their current age. But they both sure have impressed. I wonder if both could battle for a spot next year. May have a few friendly competitions in camp! |

I don’t see ghost as someone that moves the needle, if he’s on the team fine but if he’s off that’s fine too. He’s not the offensive catalyst he used to be. I appreciate that he moves the puck up ice but he also finds himself doing one to many spins and cutbacks, turnovers happen, and he’s not great defensively . Let’s not pretend the PP was good this year. - ClaudeFather
