Pius Suter said he'd like to re-sign with the Blackhawks. He says he's confident they'll figure something out.
Suter also said he won't be playing in the Worlds because of his contract status. It's not worth the risk. |

Why pray tell would the Hawks be scratching Strome? - RickJ
Because they could not find a trade partner for him at the deadline. (red font)

My point wasn’t moving a center to wing. If a player can’t cut it as a center moving him to wing makes sense. But moving a center to wing for the sole purpose of having a power winger makes no sense whatsoever, especially when that team doesn’t have sufficient depth at center. As far as Dach goes, he may not prove to be a center but it’s far too early to make that assessment especially when he looked awfully good at center against Edmonton in last year’s playoffs. |

YES!! Get rid of Blowman and JC because what have they done? I’d prefer all that JD and Gortman have accomplished. - paulr
Some fans expect too much. As if anyone else ANYONE could achieve barely a better record than Colliton
Sure Colliton has flaws. His defense scheme didn't work as well with a lot of youth and not as well as a team with superior talent (Carolina)
As the team.imoroves and as kids improve, Cillitin will be held accountable for better coaching. The break out for example. And I would prefer a GM and coaches on same page- just curiius but do other players around the league traditionally over the years have the same influence on pp as Kane does? Finally next year Keith should loose his status on top pp unit. I know the argument, who beter than Keith. Going forward, many if the kids, that is whom is a big leap forward in certain ways from Keith
Now as for Bowman I personally suggest some...SOME who complain ought to.imagive being in hus shies with his constraints. Be competitive but rebuild. Draft well with mud to late first round. Best player available could have trumped adding the sort if players the team needs.
This team needs to be able to comenter evenly in cycling the puck, in scrums And the future looks like onky bottomune could fare well. So we improve with our talent but remain easily beaten by teams like Vegas. The truth hurts.
Bowman like Colliton has flaws. I like his drafting past few years. Split decision on trades but usually fans here do not grade him totally fairly in this area.
Those who disagree with anything I said.....that is your pretogative. There are many good voices, good views on this board. Some though just cannot stomach Colliton
Like politics some people will never sway from their views...
And that is ok because on a blog you just scroll down if you don't care to argue a point..Eli.though could be a real.jerk...glad he is gone or perhaps changed his avatar |

This team could definitely use more size, looking forward to seeing him on the ice, hopefully all three games to finish the season. |

We got nothing to lose. Let him and others treat it like an audition for next season. Plus, he plays a mean bass. |

Blackhawks have signed prospect D Jakub Galvas to a 2-year contract starting next season.
Galvas was their 2017 5th round pick. Had 11 points in 47 games with Jukurit in Finland this season. He’s a small guy at 5’11”, 161 pounds but has offensive skill. He’s Rockford bound. - Chunk
If he progresses ultimately the question becomes, how many really small not strong players can co-exist on the same blueline. If each never adds enough strength....they almost have to be practicly an all star level to have more than say two jockeys on defense
Keith could really check hard when he wanted to. Beaudin - no..Galvas most likely - no.
Theo or anyone knows more can correct but fairly certain we have two jockeys in Beaudin and (possible) Galvas.
Beaudin develop into top four dman, eh. Been suggested on this board, He has to get really good in certain areas. Could he. Maybe. But I believe it when it happens.
Like to see what Regula, Phillips become. Even Moberg as quientessential physical 7th dman. Kaiser and Vlasic sound like great prospects but they need at least two years during which they need to get stronger (Kaiser) and get comfortable regularly body in physical checking/more nasty quotient (Vlasic). |

Wasn't Giroux moved to center only recently though? |

Dach being held out the rest of the year.
Connolly in for Strome (saw that coming)
Regula in for Mitchell.
Delia starting again.
Colliton on Alec Regula: "Big body. Calm player. He's got a lot of poise with the puck. His conditioning has improved this year... Looking forward to seeing him play at an NHL pace." - Chunk
I suggest Colliton first wants to see him pin man to boards, play simple game and be physical as needed. The shot, the offensive skater on rush...comes afterwards almost as if a bonus. Regula could be a solid third pair dman to put with a smaller offensive player. Like Beaudin? Or eventually either Kaiser or Vlasic as partner would make a very strong tandem. If they develop as we [myself] expects they shall.
Let Galvas handle rough physical AHL before he is even NHL worth a look. |

Fine the league, not the NYR. Face up to your shortcomings, NHL

I wouldn't worry about Galvas. He's going to be in the AHL for a while. |

I lost count at around 5 for 1st period fights in their game last night. It seems the "issue" is not settled. |

Right now I would take 6 really good dmen no matter what size they are. |

Every team in the NHL should chip in dollars for the Rangers to make a statement. I have no problem with Wilson body checking players cleanly but hard. I have no problem with Wilson fighting with guys his own size and with his level of fighting ability. Wilson targeting skill players doesn’t demonstrate toughness but rather cowardice. Wilson’s antics could have been curtailed had he been suspended, and suspensions upheld, for prior cheap shots. The NHL is directly to blame for Wilson’s nonsense. The next time Wilson targets a smaller skill player who is unable to protect himself, suspend Wilson for a number of games but fine the capitals a few million dollars. I guarantee a hefty team fine will ensure the Capitals themselves ensure Wilson gets in line. The alternative is teams start signing goons to go after Wilson as payback. And very few want the alternative. |

Gallant has turned down 2 positions since his Vegas run to the Cup Finals -
I can't say which teams but trust me
I think Jeremy is Stan's guy & he will stick with his decision to hire him after firing Q.

Or they want to play Suter, Kurashev, Kampf, and Entwhistle at center, and to play Strome on the wing is a waste, because you want to see what Gaudette can do?

We can do better than that. Remove draft picks or make the team play with one less skater during the suspension. Or fine the coach. Or all of these. If the league wanted this stuff out, they could do it tomorrow. They don't.

Just a note to Paulie, the Chunkster and Bread....I noticed those shots you took earlier, and will avenge them later with a forearm shiver in the corner. You are fortunate that I am a floater who rarely gets near a corner. |
