I'll agree that some young guys got some extra time that maybe wasn't warranted or was too early, but to start the year, there was really only one D spot open for a youngster other than Boqvist (Keith, Z, Murphy, de Haan, AB). There were a couple extra spots open for forwards, but you had (not that these were necessarily the lines but:
ADB-Strome-Kane
Shaw-Soderberg-Kubalik
Janmark-Walmark-Carp
Highmore-Kampf-X
I would guess that Soderberg wouldn't have been signed if Dach wasn't injured, but who knows. Some of the young guys made some of the vets superfluous, and injuries played a huge part. Once the youngsters showed they could handle more they played more and ultimately traded the vets.
I'm not entirely upset with the method, I'd like to see more team cohesion, but with that many young players slotting in, I'll take the current results. |

Maybe Stan could learn a thing or two? A good GM knows how to get these things done. - Ogilthorpe2
Stan and “good GM” should never be mentioned in the same sentence...or two in this case. |

Capfriendly has him listed as 5-11, 165 pounds. Time to hit the weights kid.

Love to see Jeff Gorton & JD hired in Chicago - Colbyboy
YES!! Get rid of Blowman and JC because what have they done? I’d prefer all that JD and Gortman have accomplished. |

He's mentioned that a couple times in the past as well. Hopefully, with having to take time off from woking on his hands/shot/stickhandling, he puts a ton of effort into that part of his game (not to mention getting stronger overall). He really could turn into an excellent player. I'll be interested to see what he looks like going into next season. |

Blackhawks have signed prospect D Jakub Galvas to a 2-year contract starting next season.
Galvas was their 2017 5th round pick. Had 11 points in 47 games with Jukurit in Finland this season. He’s a small guy at 5’11”, 161 pounds but has offensive skill. He’s Rockford bound. |

The experts on here say Gortman’s the right guy for the job, that’s good enough for me. I also take their expert advice on vaccinations, world events and financial investments, don’t you? |

I like allot about Boqvist’s game especially aspects that can’t be taught like his offensive creativity and how he thinks the game. I’d like to see him learn and excel at parts of the game that can be taught like defensive positioning and using his to take passes, shots and open lanes away. |

Theo Fox: Well Done
A look at whether the Blackhawks have brought along this season's crop of youngsters at an effective pace to ensure long-term benefits for the rebuilding club. - Theo Fox
Theo question or your opinion and i know i ll get heat for this but do you think dach would better off as a lw than a center and yes i know the hawk's brass drafted dach to be the number one center for the future. Imo i like him more as a winger. |

No NHL team has hired Gallant and there have been several openings.
No Colliton is not a great coach. It also does not matter right now. He is doing exactly what the FO wants, and is cheap. Understand the current situation. |

Hey Scott, what makes you like him more as a winger? I think he's only played a few games there (last year?). |
