I'd be surprised if the Rangers let Wilson finish a shift without getting into a fight.

I look at the Rangers today and I don't see a team that is playoff ready.

But, I do see a team that is close to being a Stanley Cup contender.

I would imagine knowledgable Ranger fans are confused and disappointed. It would be a huge error if the Rangers start trading picks and prospects for veterans in an attempt to add experience and grit into their line up.

I don't disagree. My concern would be that Messier's comment about the Rangers being too soft might be a "tell" in terms of what is coming. Grit should not be an expensive addition and it should not cost you skill.

Perhaps Drury will try to talk Oglethorpe into coming out of retirement for games with the Capitals next year.
