Hahahaha it’s so irrational and never going to happen.
This team is going to go after Eichel 100% and it’s an absolutely horrible decision to make IMO. Then they are going to go out and over pay for RNH or Landeskog. Lol - Awolff9
Yeah, this was the fear I was hinting at with Nils. Would hate to see a prospect of his pedigree traded away before ever even suiting up, in a horrible mistake of a trade. |

Landeskog makes zero sense unless they trade LAF. |

whatever they do, I promise I will get gung ho about about and ready to rock by opening night
if Jack Eichel is a Ranger then I'm ready, if Torts is the coach again, I'm ready
I was always skeptical they could do a rebuild like this in NYC anyway

I do. 100%.
We know exactly where that road leads.
Fall back!!! All hands on deck throwing themselves in front of every shot and stagnating offensive instincts. Temper tantrums and pissy attitude. Then in 3 years max, the players are tuning him out and we start again.
If Quinn is gone, they need to bring in Gallant. Hard-nosed player that has proven he can implement a strong system AND have a relationship with his players at the same time. |

I loved winning the Cup in 1994, but been adamant that unsure the ends justified the means there. Losing Amonte wrecked this organization, trading Zubov to get tougher was a stupid move. My concern is more of the same could easily occur if Sather is at the wheel or around as he has Dolan’s ear - airjan23
Smith did a ton of dumb things, but to me the cup did justify it. I won't even argue that we could have still won without trading Amonte or Gartner.
I've always maintained two things about teams that have won in the cap era: They've always had big moves that went for it, and both had downfalls afterwards as a cost of doing business.
I think the Kings may be the closest example you'd use as a team that you'd want to see us emulate as someone who kept their nucleus together. Even then though, they traded Simmonds, Schenn, Johnson, etc and are still struggling after years of rebuilding.
I just think when the window opens, you have to take advantage of it. This isn't the 90s, you can't be the Wings and just stay on top forever.

Gallant, or very unlikely unless they dont pay the man, Brind'Amour |

That's why this is so ridiculous!!! They already did it!! lol
All the hard work is over. Only tinkering remains. That isn't a rebuild, it's fine tuning. |

If Gallant can be had, sure. But I don't think Tortorella is quite the same coach he was back when the Rangers had him. Maybe I'm wrong but he looks to have evolved a little. |

can, but doesnt on an NHL team.
get a center who is a god damn center
edit: what i mean by this is more defensive zone play. checked the stats, he's good on faceoffs but they need true centers, in addition to faceoff specialists |

I think that's a pipedream from what I've read recently.
Horseface doesn't want to be anywhere else and there are reports that talks are already well underway, just under the radar until the playoffs are over. |

Elliott Friedman reported yesterday that Brind'amour has a verbal agreement in place to stay on. This is also what Sara Civian has been reporting for like two months.
It's just that one of the conditions is that his assistants and equipment/training staff all get extensions too, so they're making sure those are done before he puts pen to paper. |
