it'll definitely be longer than the time for the slurpers to rebrand themselves as "objective on the fence sitters." "sure i saw the good in what benning was doing but it was time to move on." "he definitely was a great drafter but he had his mistakes so it's time to move on." "i only saw him as the builder type who would hand it off once the core was set so i saw it coming."

the slurpers rebrand is coming. be on the lookout.

If I'm the rangers I make sure every single one of their guys (except Wilson) ends up in the box for a fight. Wilson, we ignore completely. If he tries to come to the aid of another player and is third guy in he gets tossed...

Imagine if they had to play 1 on 1 (just the goalies) because every single player was in the penalty box

Too late. Smith grabbed Wilson as soon as he got on the ice for fight #4. Got an instigator and took a pretty decent beating.

Slurping hate rebrand may bring indigestion. Though don't think you slurp or hate and are more in the middle like me thrupling the Canuck drama.

I fully expect heads to roll from the accumulation of misses. But what do I know. I thought Canucks would be fighting for a playoff spot in their step back season.

Benning > Gorton

Pathetic that some even used to argue that fact, it shouldn’t have even been a debate. But glad that the people who preferred Benning are now officially vindicated

I should be an NHL coach. These guys need to be able to troll better than this.

That’s the other way to go. Make sure he fights every shift so he spends 30 min in the box.

If you’re the Flyers - out of the playoff race - do you contact the Rangers and say “hey, what’s it worth to you for us to go after Wilson too”?

It’s getting warmer here all the time. I was hoping to quarantine in Dons basement.

i think this misses the point.

no one (or hardly anyone) has pointed to one mistake and said that the gm (or coach) needs to be fired because of it. rather, for most people, it's been an accumulation of mistakes. for others it's a disagreement over vision and the team's plan.

but by saying "other GMs make mistakes too," it looks at every issue in a vacuum.

other GMs makes mistakes too works on a singular level when you look at the issue in a vacuum but it doesn't work when you look at the "mistake" as a pattern.

the problem is that the "excuse" gets used every time because everything can be framed as a singular issue in a vacuum.

If Brendan Smith is your guy to grab him then they don't have the horses for that strategy. I'm thinking sneaky dirty.

That’s why I proposed the ignore him tactic, but make every other player on the team pay. Basically every guy that lines up is informed that “we’re fighting, or you’re getting pummeled, you choose”. I mean, they probably don’t care if they lose the games anymore, their playoff hopes are done.

They are soft like us. They risk getting pummelled themselves with this strategy. Which is why I say sneaky dirty. Even if there's a suspension, season's over. Dress a goon next year to deal with the aftermath.

I think you missed the point greatly - I never said "one mistake leads to a firing" or mentioned cumulative mistakes. Nor did I bring up vacuums.

I was referring to something that's been brought up many times in the past. And I summed it up pretty accurately.
