I don't know man, Edvinsson looks really good, can actually play D, great skater, big body already. I really like McTavish too, could be a bull of a centre if he sped up a little. I've seen him as low as #32 in draft rankings - seems strange.

rumour that they were fired (though they had it coming for the team's play) because they (davidson and gorton) went around the league disavowing the statement. the statement was apparently from ownership and not pres/gm. it got out that jd/gorton were calling other gms saying that the statement didn't come from them and they disagreed with it.

that seems as likely as them being fired because the nyr don't want to pay a fine but don't mind paying severance.

add another excuse to the list marwood: other teams have front office drama too.

It makes zero sense to fire them to avoid a fine. Assuming both/one of those guys still had term left, they'd be paying them while paying for new guys to take their spot/s.
