No reason to make a new blog for tonight's game. Win or Lose we can't be budged in the standings unless Van loses all of their remaining 7 games, and I am guessing they climb standings based on points %. No sense making them play out the season against non-playoff teams, or holding up the start of playoffs.

All that is left to do is hand out the players report cards based on the year, determine who will be exposed to the expansion, look at potential re-signings and UFA's, and the draft class once we know where we land.

I’d call the season a success. Guys developed, never truly gave up on themselves or each other, and ended up with a top 6 pick.

Vancouver will be playing out the remainder of their games, the league already confirmed they're making them do it. It would be fantastic if they cancelled their games and just seeded them based on points%, but that isnt going to happen

don't really care if they take PK. He's more useful in the room than Johnsson. We're also not necessarily stocked with many D better than him, which is sad to admit. He was at least serviceable this year. Johnsson has good underlying numbers.. but I kind of feel like, so what? We have more wingers on the cusp of breaking in than D and I feel like D have to be more steady and developed where wingers can at least be a little more sheltered.. I mean having 12 forwards compared to 6 D in the game kind of lends to that.

Johnsson and PK don't overlap in who gets exposed. It's 8 forwards and 3 defensemen. Both of them could be protected/exposed but it's not a choice between one or the other.

They're going to protect Johnsson since they spent assets to acquire him in the first place. I suspect they might protect PK too and just leave Butcher exposed since they didn't play him all season for some reason anyway.
