Buch a heavy? Are you nuts? Jagr was big... you think he was a fighter?
- fourtrax23

Jagr handled his own just fine. Have you watched games from his era?

Strome jump on Wilson back, Panarin jump on his back too. If both didn't jump, nothing would have started. 1 punch for whacking and hacking, that's it.
- NOAH_U

Oh, so Strome is supposed to watch his team mate get bulldogged into the ice and then sucker punched and just stand back and say, "Hey, stop that!!"??
He didn't sucker punch Wilson, he just pulled him off his team mate. Happens dozens of times per game. Then Dowd jumped on him, so Panarin moved to get Wilson of Buchnevich, in the same manner, no punching. With the size difference Panarin had to jump off his feet just to have any effect.
My original question to you remains at bar... Why is pulling Panarin's hair and trying to slam his head off the ice considered to be Wilson's only method of response??
Please answer that one before moving on.

Let's see if your superior multi-lingual intellect can connect the dots:

Why did Strome do that?

Why did Panarin do that?

You also may need to actually watch the videos and re-assess your "starting point" of these actions if you think Strome and Panarin started this.

- fourtrax23

Strome jump because Wilson gave Buchnevich 1 punch. Panarin jump because Wilson escape from strome's rear mount, Panarin got ragdoll because Wilson escape from Panarin's rear mount too. Looks like Strome and Panarin need Gracie Jiu-Jitsu lesson to keep the rear mount position.

Most of them. How many enforcer types did you see on Jagrs back when he was down punching him into the ice? Try none. Wilson has no respect and this was not a fight. If Buch or whoever actually squared off and dropped the gloves, fine - w/e - this was an attack on skill players.

Clearly you know more about baseball than hockey. Maybe stick to your Yankees/Mets and absolutely avoid any AHL or ECHL hockey, as it is an absolute battlefield out there.

Evolution of hockey? He got an appropriate punishment. Move on bud. He had every right to drop the mitts and do some serious damage the second Panarin jumped on his back.

- bikeguy99

Is there a question mark there because you don't understand the concept?
If he got an appropriate punishment then there would be 1% of the NHL talk that is going on today.
I don't give 2 (frank)s about the AHL and ECHL. That has no bearing on the subject. But, since you brought it up, there is more fighting and violence there because a higher percentage of the players don't have the skill it takes to play in the NHL. A simple fact you can't help but be aware of since your a Devils fan.

This is occasionally part of a hockey game Karin.
Buch started, Pán should have known better.

Not even going to address the issue with spelling my name since the guys have done that for me thanks guys...

But as for this being a part of hockey, no it is not. I’ve been watching hockey since I was 6 years old, so that’s a good 35 years of hockey watching (and yes playing prior to having 6 bloody knee ops) and that is not part of hockey. That’s part of bush league hockey, something that belongs in the defunct NAHL with the Radio X, the Garaga and all those goons line up. That looked like WWE wrestling with the exception that it was real. If you don’t see a problem with guys being hit in the head or having their head slammed on the ice, go watch the UFC or Boxing, hits to the head are part of those “sports”.

Toughness and physical contact is part of hockey, but losing your head and trying to injure players is not. You win at hockey by scoring more goals not by making sure that your opponent will never get back up. Think about it.

Jagr scored while Reghr was hanging on his back. Reghr should have been suspended.

You really should watch everything then before making comments that make you look dumb. There is very clear video showing Wilson using his left hand to pull Panarin down by the hair while using his hip to help pivot him down. It's as clear as the morning sun.

So Jagr was skating? As in, not face down on the ice getting punched in the head while having a stick thrusted upward to increase the force with intent to injure? Seriously... stop.

The last couple days have been an interesting cross section of trolls, people who comment without actually seeing what happened and a select few who should be studied as results of the "Plan B" pill only half working.
