There was a good article on Sportsnet today about why teams like Calgary and Ottawa are able to just absolutely work Montreal over. It’s pretty simple. Montreal relies on scoring goals off the rush. When they’re able to get 8-9+ rush chances per game they generally do well. But when teams clog the neutral zone and force Montreal to cycle, it’s lights out. Ottawa generally (against Montreal at least) clogs that poop up good.
