I would have given my shot to a young person in a heartbeat. Being retired I have no problem hibernating until my turn comes around.

But asking these kids to do it really isn’t fair. Do the LTC homes and then the young people IMO.

It's a good thought and most of us would agree but I'm sure the global strategy is right.

The good news is that PHizer is pushing for 12+ approval and Moderna is right behind them.

Here’s hoping it happens quickly. These damn variants are seem to be alot more dangerous to younger people.

I have a son.
He is fully vaccinated.
When it comes to covid vaccines though, I will avoid messenger RNA vaccines.
Basically because we don't have the long term data we have for other platforms (novavax, j&j etc)

Giving the 60+ 2 doses means it's not a one dose strategy (I am assuming the age divide there)

No, only limiter on single dose strategy is that vaccine that require 2nd dose need to be injected within 12-16 weeks.

In Canada some were given both doses before we moved to a single dose strategy. New 2nd doses are limited by the fact that 2nd dose must be within that 12-16 weeks.

Wife has perfected a pizza crust recipe that she found online. A little tweaking and it's got the moistest crust that we've ever had in years. I told her we make a fantastic couple. She likes to cook and I like to eat.
Reminds me of my Mom. Cooked for a family of nine. She had the knack of replacing something in the recipe with another ingredient and the taste was still out of this world.
Thankfully we still have all of her recipe books.

I didn't contradict myself. There was no percentage on the one dosed people, only on Fully vaccinated for Canada.
It's a great choice to go for 1 dose (however I see all you guys commenting about getting 2nd doses?)

the j&j 1 shot vaccine isn't in Canada yet

Pfizer recommends 21 days between shots.

We are at somewhere around 4 months between shots - because we are prioritizing getting more people their first shot over getting people their second shot.

This isn't (frank)ing difficult to understand.

With the number of vaccines being delivered now, there's not going to be a 4 month wait for most people.

Most of these 2 dose vaccines have approx 60-65% projected efficacy after 1 dose. (Data are in the clinical trial reports)
So it makes more sense to get everybody inoculated as quickly as possible with 1 dose instead of doing the 2 dose approach (even if 2nd dose 12-16 weeks later)

Sure.

But that doesn't change the fact that up until now - we have implemented a single dose strategy.

I'm actually hoping I can get the J&J vaccine so I only have to go in once. That's how lazy I am.

Appears we have two makeup games to complete our schedule after Saturday. The Nucks and Sens? Next week. I suppose?

yup, better to have a little protection than none.

I think in the future, we will need a booster shot once a year.

Thanks Wedgie. So it was the Jets instead of the Nucks. Much appreciated. A chance to tweak the lineup for the big show none the less. GLG!

Someone is going to Tom Wilson Matthews or Marner.....it's only a 5K fine anyway

John Scott is 100% right when he says it is open season on star players....

Well that's exactly what the league should want to avoid.

But it's pretty much the message they are sending.
